Last 25 years bar of soap and a $1 ladies razor, not sure why but they work a lot better, different spacing, grind angle ?? try it you'll be surprised. I have told a few guys that tried it and agreed. I think they are Venus 3 blade

Before I grew the beard I used straight razors. I have 1 new (ok, ~15 yrs old at this point) and 2 antiques, or one of my Gillette safety razors. At some point I snagged a dozen or so off of eBay. Half of those blades are dull crap, and most of the rest are subsidiaries of Gillette....didn't want to give them another dime, but didn't know this until I did my due diligence and tried damn near all of those (e.g., those Astras—nice blades nonetheless—are made by Gillette in their Russian factory). It's an incestuous industry and woke Gillette has their hands in everything.

My favorite "Angel" of all time, back before they figuratively and literally 'dicked-up' the pageant and had to be cancelled.

It took me a while to read your post. First I had to notice the words.
Can't disagree with the assessment though on the curators or the blades.
I found it interesting for two reasons, the metallic composition of the blades and the fact that it appeared to back up the assessment of Feather blades.
Personally I only shave occasionally so the process usually involves a trimmer followed by an electric. If I want it a little closer my skin is not all that sensitive so nearly any cheap disposable will do the job. But I also agree anything except Gillette.

I actually saw Billy Jack in the movie theater when I was a kid. A buddy and I thought it was a bad ass movie, although there was a current running that I couldn’t quite place. Being 12 at the time, I didn’t understand the political statement it was making.
