I actually saw Billy Jack in the movie theater when I was a kid. A buddy and I thought it was a bad ass movie, although there was a current running that I couldn’t quite place. Being 12 at the time, I didn’t understand the political statement it was making.
The motivational part of that one is that the crew saved the boat (and themselves). We almost lost that one. Lots of injuries and one sailor killed. Hitting an immovable object (seamount) at flank speed. Going from 30kts+ to zero while standing in engineering spaces in terrifying. About 2/3 of the crew were injured in one way or another.
Pretty certain I first saw Billy Jack at the base cinema just after I enlisted .
Weak
Okay Billy.Boots. Billy Jack wore boots.
We'll see what happens but, frankly, I don't want to be the "test case." I'll stay concealed, unless I"m somewhere where OC is SOP (like an outdoor range or something).
When OC happened here I was expecting incidents and headlines but it never happened.
Can anyone really make a good argument why open carry, outside of political protests to make a point, would ever be appropriate? Even off duty uniformed officers usually prefer to carry concealed. Obviously, most criminals do.
That's makes sense. Thankful my state covers that with unintentional brandishing legislation, but it's a nice reminder that not all do. Thanks.Best reason is because when you are concealed carrying and your shirt or jacket lift up you are now open carrying in many states. That way when you have a CCW, you are covered.
I've never seen anyone open carry in town... In my state it was a natural progression from hunting with pistols. Obviously you had to be able to carry said pistol. So state became defacto open carry. Been that way for I think 40 years. Towns can make an ordinance against doing so in city limits. Most haven't bothered. Still never see it.Can anyone really make a good argument why open carry, outside of political protests to make a point, would ever be appropriate? So open carry on your own property was illegal before the open carry law was passed? The
Main argument I hear, mostly from friends who do carry is the protection it gives them from an accidental exposure of their carry weapon. Not that that is common, but it currently can get you in pretty hot water.
It also allows you to open carry on your property without repercussions.
I thought he was about to go full "Billy Jack" on the dude, but had to watch it again...did look like we wanted to throw them...or just ensure no one steals his stolen shoes.
(If you never heard of Billy Jack, shit was about to get real every time he took off his shoes lol)

Besides, I can't imagine the legislature not trying to pony up new laws/restrictions pronto. Nor can I imagine certain LEAs not wanting to stop harassing OC'ers in their AO.

I was in a club about 22 years old. 5'11" about 205 and real lean. A Filipino guy there with a small entourage and I bumped into each other and spilled beer on each other. We were both a little miffed but shit happens. It wasn't on purpose. His guys and the guys I was with provoked the fisticuffs. This guy was all of 5'3" 120 lbs. He hit me every time he wanted to and he wanted to hit me in the nose real hard or in the lips not quite as hard. I could tell he had control of the impact. I only got in a good shot occasionally and could never get a hold of him either. After a long time, maybe 5 minutes, he asked me to stop. I agreed. We went to the bathroom together where he handed me cold wet paper towels. We went back out and sat together and drank the rest of the night, both ashamed that we had fought over such stupidity and allowing those we were with influence us to violence. I did learn something that night, about myself, about him and about human nature.A friend of mine

Pat was very cool, great sense of humor and fun to drink with.
But, if you ever saw him kick his boots off, you wanted to pay attention.
Somebody was about to get a serious learnin
He was quick and effective, educations never took long![]()
No, I was wrong. I do know that it wasn’t encouraged in suburbia. Not that I’m so anxious to brandish anywhere anyway. Most of life is safe enough that there’s no need to be aggressive to get along just fine. And let’s face it. Unless you are rural, open carry about your neighborhood is seen as aggressive and is unnecessary. So open carry on your own property was illegal before the open carry law was passed?

I am guessing homemade?
Hey! I am not judging it looks like nice work (although perhaps undersized in the frame). I wonder why it is not 2" - or is it?
You could always count on base cinemas for the staples like Billy Jack, Bruce Lee, ...
What would you want to tow with a Lamborghini Diablo ???

In your AO…. You damn sure better be strapped… open or concealed… can be a rough area as you well know.Yes, because I want to and can...
Not hating on you man, just a tad exhausted about opinions on why I should worry about what someone else thinks.
Out here it's horrible, every old boy has a gun. Open carry is a great way to get stopped... and have a friendly conversation about firearms with a stranger.
This is why we fear the influx of foreigners (out of state) moving in and screwing up our way of life with their opinions on what we should be concerned about. We like our prayers in schools, taxes low, and ability to carry our guns however we want (within reason).
