I Spy New Baby Razor G3 4-24

Like, right F’N meow! 😻

Nothing to say, except that if something like this ever materializes that we would take PM's of people seriously interested and make a list. We would forward that information to Vortex and ask them nicely to build it and send us a bunch :)

Since this is a Vortex topic, just a reminder that we are also a mil/le Vortex dealer as well. Send all inquiries to [email protected] Attn: Richard

Talked to a certain dealer that has foreign sounding name, they still don't know pricing. However they did say it's a great scope and steps above the NX8 optically but 3oz heavier. So they either have em, or have had demos, or vortex has given them a field trial with the optics.
Got a call today about it. 2700ish shipped. Most of the specs already out there so no need to rehash. I like vortex but their prices keep inching up. Probably Gona pass on this for now but might pick up one for a large frame gas gun early next year.

$2700 street price is pretty high considering what I paid for my 6-36. I was hoping for ~$2200...lol. May have to wait for the EuroOptic demos...lol

so if they are doing the roughly 38% discount that some online shops offer on Vortex that would put MSRP around $4400. Only $300 less than the 6-36x G3?

will be interesting to see the full specs. T6xi new are going around $1700 (what I was looking at before I heard about the 4-24x g4) and even the ATACR 4-16 is in this range. $200 more than a G2 4.5-27x (quite a bit lighter though).

guess we will see how they perform to justify the prices...

Just ran into this listing randomly while looking for x20 scopes ... $2800 you can check it out HERE
Vortex still not giving up them trees, meh....

Folks will buy it, but if street price is nearly $3k that's a hard pass. I mean I really like my 6-36 GIII, but I would not give $3k for it's little brother.

XTR-PROs and T6xi's new under $1500, LRP S3's around $2000, used Gen II 4.5-27's showing up under $1500, and 3-18's in the $1000 range.

This.

As bad as he was i really wonder how much Scott contributed to the success the initial G3 6-36 launch. It was the top scope at the sub $2k price, then turned into just another option at the current price.

I don't remember them ever being sub $2k. I bought 4 of them through liberty optic, a couple first gens, then a few once turrets were updated. I believe the cheapest he ever sold them was around $2200. Now it's hard to find them for new $2600, but if you know people, it's doable. I feel this baby gen3 will prob fall into that mid $2k area street price once all the hotness wears off.

I paid $1900 for both mine from liberty

Well I have one on order as soon as actually available. Been super excited about this. I will let everyone know what I think after I get to beat it up. Hopefully we can have one for November 9th Immokalee class I am teaching. Love letting students use things and get feedback back from them.

Man maybe I was getting took. I don't remember him advertising that low a price. It has been like 4-5 years now. How time flies. That's a hell of a scope for $1900.

I still have a receipt right here from Scott for 2 at $1900/ea. Granted that was from the "implosion sale" and I never got them from Scott, but Vortex made good on it... (Thanks again Shamus and the guys at Vortex for that!) I know about a year before that Scott had them for $1750 or 1800... and people actually received those, lol

You can still get a G3 6-36 for $2100 with a 30% off PRS certificate, and I believe that's currently the best deal going after Vortex significantly raised their MSRP a couple years ago which really impacted the le/mil/vet/first responder prices since those discounts are a percentage back of MSRP. Before they raised the MSRP, the best prices on Vortex was typically using the le/mil/vet discount during the extra 10% off periods around veteran's day or July 4th and a couple other times during the year.

The PRS certs are 30% back of street price, so the increased MSRP didn't affect them.

Still considering trying one of these scopes once they're available, but also want to try a March 5-42... Decisions, decisions... Who am I fooling, I'll end up with both, lol

It wasn't just liberty. EO and expert voice would run 50&55% off g3 razors once or twice a year plus Scott. If you wanted one cheap just needed to wait a few months

This why I think they gained the market share they did. Scott set the market and other companies had to drop their prices to move units. Yes, there was a time where they were selling for $1800ish. I bought several. Imo they are a great $2k scope, but it's just another $3k scope. Meaning it doesnt stand out or offer anything special.

My thoughts exactly. For around $2k +/- they were a no brainer, the bang for the buck was amazing. I have 4 G3 6-36s and still really like them.

At the current full street price of $3k, I'd be looking at used stuff from other brands (I bought 3 used TT 5-25s for that) but since you can still get the G3 for $2100 new with a 30% off PRS certificate they're still probably my favorite optic at that price point if you're buying new.

I'm hoping for a street price of $2700 for this new 4-24, which would put it at $1890 with a 30% off certificate. If it performs as well as the 6-36 I think they'll have a winner.
