    Shooting sticks vs. Tripod

Re: Shooting sticks vs. Tripod I like the sticks for hunting as they are so fast. To adjust the hight, just lift up and swing out one side until you have it right. Takes seconds. Pretty tough to beat the tripod setup mentioned above for more static locations.

Yeti coolers - who has 'em?

Re: Yeti coolers - who has 'em? Living in Florida and doing a bunch of offshore fishing where keeping ice is very important, I've had a bunch of different coolers. Yetis are really good at ice retention but their beauty lies in their ruggedness. Neither you or a grizzly bear are going to hurt...

    American Guns-WTF

Re: American Guns-WTF Last week they sold some lady an AR10 for $10k. She could have bought a Gap10 with NF, USO, etc. for thousands less. I need to get in the business where letting someone blow up some tannerite after the sale nets and extra 30-50 %. On another note, I guess that is how he...

Hunting & Fishing Alaska bear hunt

Re: Alaska bear hunt You are basically going to kill a heavily built 400 - 800 lb animal at ranges from point blank out to 300 yards (if your guide will let you shoot that far). I'd load up with high quality bonded bullets, know your rifle and the load, take a good camera and raingear, and...

    Kimber rifles quality?

Re: Kimber rifles quality? Not a tactical model, but I have owned a Kimber Montana in 308 that is the most accurate hunting rifle I've ever owned. Fit and finish are excellent on mine.

Hunting & Fishing God Damn Ticks

Re: GOD DAMN TICKS Got one on the underside of my pee hole last year hunting Oceolas down by Okeechobee. None of my buddies would help "get it off". Go figure..... Myself and my dogs despise those satanic blood suckers

Hunting & Fishing Baja Mexico fishing season anyone

Re: Baja Mexico fishing season anyone Went on a long range trip out of San Diego aboard the Excel last year. That part of the world is incredible and the fishing was just insane. I would have loved to spend more time chasing Wahoo around the Mag Bay area. That North River is a heck of a boat...

Re: What would you do in this situation? In most states it is illegal to put down a deer that has been hit with a car..... That deer on the ice might at least have a chance.

Lighter hunting set up - Questions

Re: Lighter hunting set up - Questions My hunting favorite rifle that I own is a Kimber Montana in 308. Bone stock it weighed 5 lbs 2 oz. I added a DNZ one piece scope mount and a Leupold 2-7. It now weighs under 6.5 lbs with 4 rounds in it. Shoots sub moa. Everyone that shoots it loves it...

Sidearms & Scatterguns Glock 10mm replacement barrels-KKM or Lone Wolf?

Re: Glock 10mm replacement barrels-KKM or Lone Wolf? I did this search a couple of months ago. Researched KKM, Lone Wolf, Storm Lake, and Pac Nor. The Pac Nor deal seemed to be the best where you send them your pistol and they get it feeding 100% before sending it back to you but they have...

    Hunting & Fishing game cookery

Re: game cookery We like to take some 1/2 inch cuts then put some cream cheese and 1/2 a jalepeno in the middle of the cut, roll it up, stick it with a tooth pick and throw it on the really hot grill. S&P to taste and it only takes a minute or two.

    .30'06 vs .308

Re: .30'06 vs .308 I hunt quite a bit and a couple years ago I picked up a Kimber Montana in 308 for a backpack deer hunt. Prior to that, I always hunted with a 300 or 06. The light weight of the Kimber and its' short and handy charateristics led me to it and kept me with it. Since that deer...

    Sidearms & Scatterguns Why Glock?

Re: Why Glock? Their beauty is in their simplicity. Break one down and the are remarkably simple. I went through a phase where I had to have several very fancy 1911's. They are an incredible pistol and I can make smiley faces on a target with one but they are heavy and limit you to 8 rounds...
