Ronald Reagan's motivating as hell speech!

Re: Ronald Reagan's motivating as hell speech! My first born son is named Reagan. I will someday explain the signifigance of that name to him. I was seven when he was elected president and didn't understand his wisdom until later in life. And I cried like a baby watching his funeral on TV...

Re: First Build FN SPR I can't say enough good stuff about Woody and X-ring accuracy. He has been the most understanding and accomodating smith I've ever worked with. He never rushes me when I'm on the phone with him and seems to place everything on hold to talk. His communication...

Re: First Build FN SPR OK, Just walked in the door from work and here are the test targets that Woody shot with the rifle. I guess I won't be able to blame my rifle anymore for crappy shooting. So what do you guys think, will it pass muster?

Re: First Build FN SPR I don't know about FN since they took over production of the Model 70, but Winchester for several years used a MIM extractor on the Model 70 "Classic". This was changed during the latter part of the Model 70 "Classic" production which used the Williams extractor made...

Re: First Build FN SPR That isn't the scope that I will be using, it's one that Woody used to test fire the rifle. I have been given a good deal on a Vortex Razor but fear that it'll be too much magnification for LE use. I'm hoping that it won't be, but if it is, the USO SN-3 1.8-10x44 is...

Re: First Build FN SPR OK guys, Woody called and told me the rifle was finished with the exception of my Williams extractor. He sent me several pics of the completed project. Let me know what you think. These are only a few of the pics that he has sent but are a good representation of...

    Hunting & Fishing Dove season

Re: Dove season Ok, Just got back from the field and killed 5. Just not nearly as many birds as last year. But, I consider this my most succesful hunt as my 5 year old son killed his first bird. We were hunting in a stand of trees in an open field when a worn out bird that had been shot at...

Re: First Build FN SPR Guys, I don't know of many 'smiths that would take the time to photograph steps of a customer's build then upload them and send them to the customer. Speaks well for the customer service of X-Ring Accuracy and Woody.

Hunting & Fishing The Squirrel Season Countdown Thread

Re: The Squirrel Season Countdown Thread The method from the video above is exactly the method that I use as well. It is best to do it as soon as you can after the squirrel is dead, otherwise the skin has a tendency to hold on a bit more. After you skin them, dress them. I carry some...

Re: First Build FN SPR No reason in particular. I'm sure that Marks work is on par with the best in the business and he did do excellent work on my bolt handle. I spoke with Woody on the phone and he was attentive to my needs and seemed to understand and identify with what I was trying to...

Re: First Build FN SPR So much for SPR actions having been "trued up" at the factory. Woody has been kind enough to send me photos as the build progresses. These are of the action prior to blueprinting. As you can see I have good contact on one of the lugs and no sign of contact whatsoever...

Hunting & Fishing The Squirrel Season Countdown Thread

Re: The Squirrel Season Countdown Thread 6 more days here in Tennessee but I don't like shooting them in the summer. Too many have the Bot Fly larvae in them. I usually wait for a good frost before heading out for limbchicken.

    It is finally done!!

Re: It is finally done!! For a classic look I would use high polished blued finish on all of the metal or a satin bead blued running as a close second choice. I love unique looking rifles and can't wait to see the finished product whatever you decide to do. It is stunning.
