    Once you attach a stock it is a rifle. If the barrel is shorter then 16" with a stock it is a SBR. No stock barrel shorter then 16" is a pistol. The only AR style pistol I would ever want is a RRA LAR-PDS the pistol buffer tubes on a standard lower defeat the purpose of a pistol if you ask me.

    Faster spin equals more stabilzation for heavier bullets, it does not get you more velocity. Tighter twist = more drag in the barrel. Heavier bullets will stay supersonic longer but they are not going faster becuase of a tighter twist.

    In my opinion there is not a lot of difference, unless you are trying to rapid fire. If your fundamentals are strong and you take your time between shots you will find the transition easy. As stated before though if your basic shooting skills are lacking the semi-auto will show this quickly.

    Troy TRX 308 owners.

    I've mounted two of these rails on a .308 the first one went on without a hitch. The second one never did mount exactly right atleast by my standards. I love the rail but the mounting system leaves a lot to be disired.
