I apologize for the confusion. It is the new quick lock AX. I bought it with a threaded barrel on and I walked into my local smith, he took off the thread protector and checked for alignment then added a washer and the brake and torqued it onto the barrel. It may just be me but it had seemed...
It is a dead air brake for mounting my can and I had thought to myself afterward whether it would have been a better decision to have removed the barrel for install or if it was okay to leave in. I was worried as to whether it was possible in anyway that the smith could over torque and damage...
Recently bought an AI Ax and had my local smith put a brake on for me. Do most users remove barrels or install their muzzle devices with the barrel still on? Main reason is even though the brake is on straight my barrel seems like the two grooves on the AI barrel at the front seem to be at more...
I went ahead and decided to get a Trex Arms Orion as I figure I could use it to get time on it and be able to give others feedback as to how I like it in case others have a similar question in the future. Thanks all of you for your time and input. Still want to hear about your HSGI experiences.
I initially figured this would be a hard topic as i mostly have only seen HSGI and I don't think TREX Arms has had a lot of exposure in the precision rifle world. Look forward to hearing your thoughts also when you get to use your HSGI
How are you enjoying it so far ? The HSGI's are in stock which is great for being able to pick one up quickly and Trex Arms is out of stock and not sure when will be available again. Not sure whether to wait for an orion or get the slim grip.
Looking to purchase one of these three models of belt systems for running my mag pouches and drop leg on. Without having much experience with any of them other than encountering them on fellow competitors, what are your thoughts and opinions of these models. I find all three to be very nice but...
Lately have also been highly interested by the Peltor ComTac III/ACH if anyone has feedback on them. Again I don't mind price as long as a piece of equipment is quality, reliable, durable, and nothing beats getting multi use out of your equipment
Thank you to all of you. Yes waiting back on my Dead Air can which will be nice. I will take a look into all of your suggestions. More and more lately it feels like the Surefire's aren't blocking anything. I took them out after a day of practice with a buddy and when he started to talk, I said...
Yes exactly. That was part of my dilemma. Im not sure when the new 500 series will be arriving at our shop and in the meantime wasn't sure what to do for a cheaper pair that will work great until I get the Sordins. I had also seen reference to Safariland TCI DEHP which also seem nice but much...
Well before the season starts I've started to notice i can't use just surefire ep4's anymore without having ringing or really diminished hearing for the rest of the day if not 2 days. I plan to eventually order a set of MSA Sordin Supremes but for now plan to get either Howard Leight Impact...
Looking to start using over the ear in combination or to take over for what I have been using which is Surefire Ep3's. What are some of everyones suggestions between these two brands or even others also ? Thanks in advance to everyone for your input
Thank you again everyone. I will most likely eventually try all 3 of the pairs I mentioned but am thinking ill go with the Salomon Forces Pro 3d to start with
Thank you so much for the information. I may for now when it comes leave it as standard add my brake and geissele rail and be done while I continue to research.
Hey everyone. I recently ordered an HK MR556A1 with initial intention to SBR to 10.5 inch barrel and use with my Dead Air Sandman. I however made the mistake of not researching far enough into all the Form 1 requirements and laws past a tax stamp and and a few other things. I have no issue with...
