I guess that makes a case for a standardization of FDE colors across manufacturers. So everyone's wives won't find out!

    JBSteelStik for bedding a stock?

It does a great job for extended bolt handles, but I really wouldn't trust it for a bedding job, it's a bit thick and sets too quickly. I'd suggest doing it right, there's a reason that it has been done the same way for decades.

which one would you keep? The 308, or a long action that you can use all 3 calibers in?

Rifle Scopes Spuhr Mount feedback thread with pictures.

I'm curious if you could build a leveling kit for your independent rings... I was imagining having a ~2.5 inch section of aluminum (you could use a lower grade of aluminum, as it wouldn't be a structural piece of the mount. This would help lower materials and milling costs, I suspect) roughly...

Have you ever wished the trigger pull was a little lighter? I know 90% of the trigger is in the break, but the AI specified pull range of 1.5-2.0 kg (3.3-4.4 lb) surprised me a little bit on paper. I've never heard anyone really wish an AI trigger would break at 1.5 lbs, but I thought I'd ask...

    TAB GEAR request for help.

The only thing holding back a fillable bag using beads would be then you have to bag them all up when you take some out. A good solution would be to have beads in small self-contained packages (maybe some cloth or plastic?) that you could add or subtract one by one in a large zippered pouch/fill...

Don't worry, everyone! I solved RMW's dilemma for him... at least until he gets another shipment in.

Thanks for the advice! I was also looking at the AADMOUNTS... they have what I'd call similar features (but not the nifty scope leveling device, which has to be the coolest thing in the world, I'd say). edit: I suppose you guys are right... might as well get the right tool for the job. 34 mm...

Is the top handguard rail on the AXMC removable? I believe the top rails on the old AX chassis were, and it would allow me to use my current scope mount until I got a new one. Also, what would you guys recommend for a mount/rings for a 56 mm objective on an AXMC? I love the look of the Spuhrs...

Rifle Scopes Larue LT-120 Scope Clearance Question

I have an old Larue LT-120 mount that I put my new Vortex Razor HD Gen II into today. Per the Larue website, the 1.285" centerline height of the mount can accommodate up to 56 mm objectives and still use scope caps. However, when I mounted the scope to a flat top rail, the objective just barely...

I ordered back in April. It has been a long time coming, what with Rob01 going around flaunting his off and saying how awesome it is.

Rifle Scopes Razor HD Gen II 4.5-27x56

I just got news yesterday that Vortex had a scope ready to ship out for me! Travis at Vortex has been truly awesome this entire time, and has accommodated me at every turn. I can't thank him enough. I can not say enough about the customer service of the entire Vortex crew, and it has made me a...

Rifle Scopes Razor HD Gen II 4.5-27x56

I think that if Vortex can manage to find a color that most people are willing to accept, it is in their best interests to make nearly all of their top end scopes in that color. It really does set them apart when sitting next to all of the tactical black scopes in the store.

Rifle Scopes Is a 20x scope too much for engaging targets at under 600yds 75% of the time

it's probably not too much magnification for that range, but you may find yourself running into some issues with mirage at that magnification, depending on where you live and when you like to shoot during the day.

    Rifle Scopes Cleaning???

Do the same thing you would for any high-end optical equipment: Blow debris off the lens surface (either using compressed air or a small air bladder like the Rocket Air by Giottos, making sure to point the optic so that the debris can fall down off and away from the lens), then use the brush on...

Do AICS mags need to 'break in'?

my new 10 rounders took a few magazines worth to break in and feed reliably. The feed lips also need to get worn down, as they're scratching up the brass pretty good on chambering. You should be fine, just go shoot some.
