Rifle Scopes UV filters for protection

Has anybody used the high end UV filters normally used to protect high end camera lenses to double as a protective barrier on your high end scopes? If so, any opinions on pros and cons?

    Rifle Scopes Zero question???

I'd try to go for a name brand one piece base and ensure that is not the problem. You need a solid foundation no matter what level of scope is on the top.

Agreed. Had this comment on another post and pointed out the same thing.

    Whiz wheel

Excellent. Sounds like something I will be looking into once I get the rifle back from the smith.

    Whiz wheel

Sounds good. I do a lot of hunting in rolling hill country in not the best of weather. I'd like to have something I can carry with me that is not electronic. And as far as on the fly, that would be under a minute. Time to range a target and use the wheel to get the dope. Would be for coyote...

    Bipod height?

Depends on terrain too. If you are prone with tall grass in front then u may want a little extra height

LRF for >1000 but <2000 yards...Leica vs. ? vs. Vectronix

Excellent review. I want the sure thing when it comes to soft targets. Coyotes and deer mainly. I simply need it to work guaranteed. Sounds like I better start saving up

    All around hunting/shooting range finder.

For the money you can not beat the Leica. I have used others for archery which is fine but for deer or coyotes at the 350-400+ range you really want the higher end rangefinder. I have a relative who has an older Leica that is light years ahead of my domestic 600 yd rifle rangefinder

Rifle Scopes How Many In/lbs torque to use

Agreed. Most will say somewhere on their papers or website about inch lbs. I use the burris PEPR at 18-20 inch lbs

Best way to get range and wind info.

No it does not read wind. It just provides the 5 mph incrementa from calculated data

    Case trimmer

Good comparison. Will have to wait and see this possum hollow outfit. Sounds like I better not jump in yet

new long range project and lost in caliber choice

Just a thought on the 6.5x47. I know several people that shoot them. They all shoot different loads. 123 gr up to 140 gr and they all shoot. It is not a picky caliber to load for

    Adjustable Gas Block Options

I have the Syrac on mine as well and got it for the reasons mentioned above. Took me 5 minutes total at the range to set it where I wanted it.

Rifle Scopes March hunting scopes. How do they stack up?

The 3-24 FFP has a zero stop. It is more money of course...

Rifle Scopes March Scopes: Looking for comments from those who have used them

I have the MTR 2. It is simple but yet I can use it to range and for holdover at varied magnifications. Nice and visible without dominating sight picture

Rifle Scopes Vortex Razor HD 35mm 5-20x50 - recommend rings or Larue QD mount ?

Badger and American rifle company make rings for 35mm as well

    Cheek Weld

You able to get lower rings? Simplest solution unless limited by the bell in how much you can come down

My Win Model70 (7mag) by Phoenix Custom Rifles

Good to see the M70 in a thread. I have mine in for accurizing, bedding, and rebarreling to a brux. Eventually may switch to a manners elite hunter as well
