    Night Vision Bushnell Equinox CCD

Has anyone looked at these? This seems to be the best budget night vision yet. I believe it has the 640X480 CCD focal plane and no IR filters. So this thing is essentially like all the security cameras with decent resolution and picks up NIR. Put an IR laser on it and your looking at something...

Check out the 'date expected back in stock' description

Things are starting to hit the shelves again, but slowly. Some of the rediculous AR parts prices are starting to come down too, because you either have it by now or the prices were just to high. I hope those guys that bought 100 AR lowers then marked'em up 3x to screw people have to eat the cost.

Night Vision L3 Insight Light Thermal Weapon Sight AN/PAS-13G(V)1

I didn't really answer your question. Thermal imagers don't really have an operational life, but more like how long the thing will last after it's sealed inside the vacuum. The hotter the environment is, the shorter it'll last. You can turn the thing on and off or keep it on as long as you want...

Night Vision L3 Insight Light Thermal Weapon Sight AN/PAS-13G(V)1

The VOx microbolometers are sensitive or opaque to longwave IR. The IR radiation heats them up and changes their electrical resistivity, thus they have to be sealed in a package that has a vacuum inside so the microbolometer doesn't disipate the heat into the surrounding air. The change in...

Night Vision L3 Insight Light Thermal Weapon Sight AN/PAS-13G(V)1

Mechanically speaking, it all depends on the the weapon, how it's mounted, and what caliber. The M4 was the harshest platform we tested on, it saw the most g's when the bolt went back into battery. We tested 300 WM, 338 LM, and 50 BMG, all of which had a suppressors or muzzle brakes and were...

Night Vision L3 Insight Light Thermal Weapon Sight AN/PAS-13G(V)1

I was designing the uncooled detectors for DRS until last year, which is L3's competitor, and I think insight was using our Vox detectors. Kind of like Raytheon using our cooled detectors in their systems. Sounds like an oxymoron doesn't it, we would compete for contracts at the system level...

    Tikka T3 Picture Thread.

Tikka did it right with such a robust action. Savage should just base all bolt action off the target action. Remington would save money just to make it similar to a Stller action with less machining processes and a more robust action. The precision shooters are ten years ahead of the manufacturers.

    My first custom!!

I agree Popeye, i like to tinker too. I would do it all if I had the money to buy more tools. Starting prone and working on my technique is what made me build the cheek rest.

    My first custom!!

The scope is 6-24X. I loaded up some varget with 140 Amax's cause that's the only powder I had due to the buying craze and I wanted to break it in. I have some IMR4831 to start doing some real load development. The best load with varget was less than 1/2 MOA. I'll post some targets once I get my...

    My first custom!!

I know my rig is a dime a dozen on here, but I'm really excited about getting into the precision shooting game. I just made my own cheek rest that I think came out pretty good, and it was really easy too. Cost me $25 to do it myself and serves it's purpose. I've been on the Hide for years...

    New Howa build officially underway!

I did that same build a few years ago too. Howa SS Varmint in 308, and it was under 1/2 MOA most of the time. When the barrel got hot it would open up, but let it cool back down and it would shrink back. It's hard to beat 1/2 MOA for a $600 barreled action.
