Gunsmithing Timing a barrel - how much does it matter?

For me, if you are having a smith fit a new barrel, why not time it? That's sort of what you pay for in having a professional fit a barrel as far as I'm concerned. I'm sure I could screw a new barrel on, but I prefer to have a pro do it for this, and other, reasons. Yes, it may not matter, but...

Simpering Snowflakes suffer stupid sideeffects stuffing subarus

If you've ever driven in NJ you'll understand why drivers cannot be trusted to pump their own gas... It is a contact sport down there. (although as you get further from Manhattan it gets better) But lung cancer increase?!? Really?? Back before the turn of the century, back when good 'ol lead...

Rifle Scopes Scopes with Exposed Elevation Turret only

Leupold with M3 turrets? You can run with a cap off and adjust by hand. BDC knobs are available from them as well as from aftermarket companies. It wasn't my first choice, but rather for an M24 build, but I like the design. A non- mill dot reticle version would probably be cheaper than the mil...

    Snowicane 2018

I love the forecast this morning: "Snow starting some time after midnight; 4-12" possible." OK. 4-12" is pretty much 95% of every snow storm in recorded history around here. And after midnight means anytime tomorrow. What a cool job as a "forecaster". I grew up here in New England and you...

Reloading newby dies question - Bushing vs FL vs Collet/Body vs etc

I don't have experience with the 6.5, so I may be off base here, but I also have a truck-load of fancy-smancy dies and other goodies and I use very little of it all. Therefore, if you want to keep it simple/cheap, try these guidelines first: Once my brass has been fired in the rifle, I only...

Have not kept track of # of Rounds thru the Brass...

I usually see neck cracks first. Unless you are loading max pressure, I doubt you will see head separation before neck cracks on cases that have never been annealed. Do you full-length size? Trim? Any other prep besides cleaning? Some of my .308 cases are easily 50 years old. reloaded unknown...

I Gotta Stay Off the Kid's Facebook Before I Have a Stroke

Looks to me like he preys on freshmen girls (and boys??) as well... POISON. Get's piercings to experience pain in his otherwise coddled life. Give him a rifle and put him on the front lines. Perhaps an additional piercing from enemy rifles will open his eyes.

Rifle Scopes Having a problem shooting with both eyes open

I’m left eye dominant and it’s a challenge. I find ind it helps if the scope image is bright. Then I can concentrate on the reticle and image but I still have a second image from my right eye. I plan to get cheap glasses with clip on sunglasses conversion with the dark tinted over-lens removed...

Movie Theater Star Wars: The Last Jedi

Fin’s a clone. I’m suprised they allowed someone of color to portray a clone. Maybe there’s hope.

Is it time yet? Helping Hezbollah......

It needs to come to light at the right time for the right person with the right convictions to make it happen. You probably notice the “past sell by date” of these revelations yet who was the first to cry out before the bodies hit the ground in Vegas? i think it is partly the media is...

Movie Theater Star Wars: The Last Jedi

I’m guilty of trying to make more if it than it is most of the time. Take it at face value and enjoy , as you have done. Keeping a consistent with actors and story line is a bonus.

Movie Theater Star Wars: The Last Jedi

Hey! Mark was great in corvette summer... not really. Just look at at all the other movies he’s been in. Well, the above list sums it up. Maybe hes he’s not a good actor? But, I appreciate them keeping the original actor (good or bad) for the part. Coming up with a new Luke just wouldn’t...

Extra Virgin Olive oil from Texas (EVO)

I had the oil in Spain and it is outstanding. You can drink it straight up it’s so flavorful. Dip bread in. Yummy. I’ve yet to find anything close here. I’ll look into the Texas GUY’S and see what they have.

Movie Theater Star Wars: The Last Jedi

I haven't seen it yet, so I appreciate there have been no spoilers yet. Thank you! Based on what I'm reading above, I wanted to point out that I have the Timothy Zahn books that were the only books approved by Lucas as the "sequels" to the (then) three original movies. They are good. I have...
