    I don't know if a light strike would affect accuracy; however INCONSISTENT strikes probably will. And of course striking too light, so the round does not fire, makes it extremely difficult to get a hit on target. So in that sense, yes, it greatly affects accuracy! I would check both the spring...

    Donor Brass: Federal vs. Hornady

    I have had good (repeatable) results with Federal brass, as well as acceptable case life. I do not anneal and scrap it once it cracks. I have not reloaded Hornady brass so I can't comment on how they compare. In .308 by the way, using Varget as well.

    If the new stock will be like that, I'd blue it. Stainless can be blued too, just a different procedure, which I recently learned. Maybe DLC would be another possible option? Or, a combination of stainless (polished) and blue. That'd be pretty nice looking if done well too.

    That's interesting. A firing pin could be inside a ball point pen casing... anywsy, I could check the bolt separate from the rifle. It was late and I was curious. No plans to fly with firearms any time soon.

    Out of curiosity, as I've never checked a firearm before, is it ok to carry on the bolt? I'm the guy who takes his bolt down range to check targets. Nothing worse than being shot by your own rifle.. but it is a bolt allowed as a carry on? I feel safer knowing even even if the case is opened...

    For what it's worth: i think nothing is more beautiful than traditional bone blueing as done by USFA. I don't know if they would do outside stuff but if I get another SAA I will do what I have to to get it in bone blue.
