    NEW CZ models

Re: NEW CZ models The price on the CZ trainer is not out of line at all IMO. I have a 455 American and have stuck $1200 into it. $400 for the rifle $600 for the scope+rings $100 for the bipod $50 for the Fat Wrench $50 for odds and ends like swivels, pillars, etc... OH, almost forgot...

    changing zero

Re: changing zero I'll go with DFOOSKING. I have seen about 1-2 minutes difference from summer to winter. Not hard to compensate for if you use a summer trajectory as a base. Just add 1.5 minutes in the winter. I use a turret label, so I am able to mark both summer(red) and winter (blue)...

I had to send my Hawke back....

Re: I had to send my Hawke back.... I just talked to Hawke again and they are sending a return label so I don't have to eat shipping. The customer service is top notch.

I had to send my Hawke back....

Re: I had to send my Hawke back.... They make good scopes, the display model was a 6.5-20x42 and it had no problems. I would have bought that one, but I wanted the extra top end. It really helps way out there. I don't think I should have to pay for the first trip, let alone the second. I...

I had to send my Hawke back....

The optical zero was at the far left end of the windage range and I only had 2 minutes of wind left. I did not notice until I changed my shooting direction and tried to adjust for a left wind.....couldn't do it. I called Hawke and they said send it back and they will look at it. The customer...

Re: .22lr at 500 yards 8.5 inch target He should be able to get hits at 1500 yards minimum with "something bigger".

Informative article on CB caps vs air rifle

Re: Informative article on CB caps vs air rifle I used to a lot of PCP shooting and gave it up for cost/convenience. Most airguns are not regulated and have a velocity curve. You have to tote all the equipment with you wherever you go and you can't shoot all day without having to fill it...

    100yard group?

Re: 100yard group? have you tried subsonic ammo? I would give Federal 711b a try. You might be surprised. Your bulk pack ammo is going transonic.

    long range 22 drop question

Re: long range 22 drop question The only problem I have run into is once you get past 300, it really starts dropping so you really have to add on some elevation to get to the next 100 yard mark.

    subsonic .22lr for long range

Re: subsonic .22lr for long range No, CB Longs are only 29 grains. These are a full 40 grains so they will fit the chamber/rifling the same way as SV. They will be much more accurate then CB Long.

    Bipod twang fix

I stuck some 3/16 braided rope in my springs to get rid of the twang. It worked! It looks completely stock and cost me all of 5 cents. No ugly shrink tubing.....YUCK...and I didn't have to take the springs off. I cut it to 3", melted the ends and stuffed it in there. It can't fall out because...

    DIY hollowpoint PICS

Re: DIY hollowpoint PICS I will be picking up some CI SSHP tomorrow. If that does not perform the way I hope, then I will be making a shield for the lathe....I still feel safer turning it in the lathe than dropping one on concrete.....

What are the top upgrades done to a Ruger 10/22?

Re: What are the top upgrades done to a Ruger 10/22? I voted for trigger because you can't hit anything without a decent trigger. I replaced the stock and barrel first and then did the trigger job. Order doesn't really matter.

    .22 pigeon shots

Re: .22 pigeon shots I used to shoot PCP rifles until last winter. I bought a rimfire because I was getting tired of pumping, sorting pellets, and being limited on how many shots I could take. Some guys use a scuba tank to fill the gun. I was not going to spend that kind of money on an airgun.
