Re: Varget for bulk rounds on progressive
I get +/- .3 grains variance with Varget thru my Dillon powder dispenser. For me, that's to much for a small case like the 223. YMMV
Re: Reloading for dpms lr308 jump to lands ?
Another thing you might try is seating your bullets deeper if you don't get what you're looking for. Just be aware if you do keep a close eye on pressure signs, especially if you're already close to max. I've had good results with this on a load...
Re: powered primer pocket uniforming...
With smaller cases like the 223 I use the Wilson case holders for their trimmer to hold the brass, much easier on arthritic fingers
Re: Does anyone have any REAL info on 260 barrel life
A shooter I know just sent his GAP260 back for a new barrel, he had a round count of about 4000. Don't know his load tho.
Re: 308 "boot" question
Try "swirling" your powder in the funnel when you drop it in. What i mean is when dumping from the scale pan into the funnel hold the pan off center and let the kernels swirl in the funnel, think toilet flushing. This settles the powder in the case and packes it in...
Re: Progressive loading of rifle cartridges?
For blasting rounds,
tumble in corn cob, havent built a ss tumber yet,
lube with lano/iso mix
f/l-decap-prime
powder charge
seat bullet
throw into ammo can
Shoot!
Re: The ammo plant is running
I sat down the other night and cranked out 1500 on my 550. My buddy has the LNL minus the bullet feeder, we're getting ready to do a 5.56 thrash. Limiting factor is we only have 4000 bullets between us
Re: Consistency of Progressive Reloads
Using a Forster Ultra Seater im getting a max .0025" runout with my 550. That was one round out of 30 checked, the majority being .001" with about 5 flatliners, oal is 001-002 varience. I'm pretty impressed with this die for off the shelf.
Re: Tula Primers
Bought some and tried them in my .40, no change in powder etc, no change over the chrono or on the target. Can't say on a .50 tho, alot more primer goin on.
I was using Winchester an CCI before

Re: DPMS LR-308 Accuracy (Reloading)
I found my LR308 needs to be held VERY firmly to get the best accuracy, as in crushing it into my shoulder. Shrunk my groups from 1.5-2" to sub moa. LC brass, CCI BR primer, 41.5 grains IMR 4895 and a 168 SMK.
Re: RCBS ChargeMaster McDonald's Straw Mod
OK I just tried this on my Hornady Auto Charge and it ROCKS!!!! Used a Burger King straw, a little larger than McD's with 2 wraps of masking tape for a snug fit and "teeth" cut into the end. The bulkiest powder I have is IMR 3031 and I ran 20 charges...
