    Re: Need ideas for my first bolt action. Savage or Remington are both solid rifles and for $1,500 you can have a really nice piece. But I'd steer clear of the 338 or 300 if you just now getting comfortable behind a bolt gun. There are many calibers to look at; .308, .260 Rem, 6.5CM, 7mm, etc...

    Re: Accuracy troubles I wouldn't advise passing over 168's. These are pure gold in my 10FP. The 168's and 175's are the go to projectile for the .308.

    Other than the one flier and being 1" high, I was fairly impressed with the factory 168 FGMM. Never had too much luck with it until now. Shot with a slightly modified 10FP; stock barrel and action.

    Re: my savage 10 5r moa?? Without going into the science of MOA and radians stick with the simplified version of Shooters MOA. 100 yds = 1 MOA, 200 yds = 2 MOA, 300 yds = 3 MOA and so on. Therefor 1" at 100 yds is considered MOA. Sub MOA is anything under 1" at 100, 2" at 200 yds, 3" at 300...
