Whatever you decide before you buy find a local gun range that rents pistols and try before you buy I liked the looks of several of the pistols mentioned but found several that did not fit my big fat clubs atthe end of my arms as well as others.

At least your having fun in the process of learning, and you got more guts than I do. The most I have done is Free floated a barrel in a wood stock and replaced 3 Triggers. thinking about bedding my first action early next year

I just shot my 270WIN Browning A-bolt 23" loaded with Hornady Brass, IMR 4350(52.5 Grains, this is still on the light end) and a Sierra 130 Grain bullet to 500 yards. It was about 2800 FPS if I remember right. I would say with a hotter load it...

Definitely impressed with my 5R 300 Win Mag, 3/4 MOA this past weekend at 700 yards with 175 Gr. Berger VLd hunting bullet and 208 Gr. A-max. Cant wait to stretch it to 1000 yards in Nebraska when I go back for Deer season.

Sorry duh moment you already have the set up instructions follow them and you will know in a hurry if the sear is not adjusted right.

If I remember right when I installed my Jewell triggers in my remington there was a set up procedure for the trigger after installation. Might want to look it up on there website and make sure it was adjusted right, not likely coming from Surgeon but could...
