    looking for a .308 Draganov/ PSL/ TIGR

x54 ammo is much easier to find, the market is so saturated with surplus even the ammo grabbers are having a hard time bleeding it dry. 7N1 is a bit harder to find but can be found.

Anti-seize On barrel extension during assembly?

They make high temp anti-seize such as silver or copper. it has been recommended by some smiths to use anti-seize on stainless barrels. other smiths just use an oil based lubricant on non stainless.

Rifle Scopes Could use some help from people with astigmatism

I wear "glass" lenses in my glasses. Polycharbonate lenses cause all sorts of havoc with my eyes, like looking through a prism. I hate the feeling of contacts, doesn't matter how thin they are its like having sand or an eyelash stuck in em. Never had any real issues with glass lenses, they...

    M1A Custom Chassis

doesn't really make you that dated till you pointed out the years, in 01-04 on my ship I carried an M14 (fiberglass stock with a steel butt plate) on many occasions during watch.

How to test my stash of well used 30 round magazines?

load em to the max and cycle the bolt. really only once or twice is more than sufficient to see if it has any issues, cycling the springs is what wears em out. other than that see if it cycles properly on a fully loaded mag+1 and see if it cycles properly on the last couple rounds. you probably...

Re: toscrap steel scrap yard, consider the distance you may shoot at but a steel flange plate should be more than adequate.

Target rounds not good for protection?

Re: Target rounds not good for protection? my Perspective: hollow points violate the Geneva convention. why would the use of a round against a perpetrator be ok, but not against a hostile force in war? over penetration, well considering that when I started keeping a firearm in my home, home...

M1A vs Ar-10, am I too infatuated with the M1A?

Re: M1A vs Ar-10, am I too infatuated with the M1A? I kicked around the idea of the M1A for a while, price wise it just didn't make much sense to me. I suppose if you just have to have it then its a great rifle, I used them in the Military and although they can be a bit front heavy IMO they...

Re: Steel vs. Aluminum rings .308? Aluminum has its uses, I just prefer steel. that said quality is still just as important.

    The Shot Indicating Resetting Trigger

Re: The Shot Indicating Resetting Trigger never used one of those, but my C02 pellet gun although lacking significant recoil achieves the same purpose in a city environment. plus I have results to reflect upon afterwards instead of trying to remember how a laser appeared.

    Steel Target Safety

Re: Steel Target Safety they might go airborne, but how far away do you plan to shoot them at? the energy absorption by the target should take enough momentum out that if they go airborne they shouldn't even clear half the range coming back. ontop of that many fulljacket rounds will splatter...
