    Shooting mat and case

I completed a similar project with my girlfriend's Husqvarna/Viking. I used 1000D and it sewed just fine. I've done up to 6 plys of 1000D, so I'm sure any machine you got should be able to handle it. Just use quality thread.

    Noob request: Sako 75V syn/stainless 300wm - accuracy?

Maybe you should try shooting a rifle that has good documented accuracy. Then you can begin to single out your problems (i.e. equipment vs technique). If your groups are ~1.5moa on a gun that consistently shoots .5moa, you know that your technique is negatively affecting the group.

Rifle Scopes What size Badger rings?

Re: What size Badger rings? (2.26/2)-0.823=0.307 doesn't mean that you need a base of 0.307. It would be a distance to a straight line off of the top of your action. You may have noticed many scopes shapes follow the contour of the rifle. It is also possible for scope bells to sit below...

    Bullet Comparators with/without base

Re: Bullet Comparators with/without base Yeah Sledge, its a good idea, but like you said not sure it's totally necessary. I'll do myself a favor and spend the $18 on a steak dinner.

Sniper Distances in the movie "Shooter"

Re: Sniper Distances in the movie "Shooter" Have you noticed in the first scene when his partner gets killed, the blanks can't cycle the M82. he has to rack every shot.

    Felony Assault.... with french fries

Re: Felony Assault.... with french fries The chamber gets pretty greasy with crinkle cuts, but the suppressor likes wet firings. I get better stabilization with curly fries @ 100yds. I haven't shot 200, yet but from what other people on SH are talking about, these curlies group well at 1 mile.

    Bullet Comparators with/without base

Re: Bullet Comparators with/without base sounds good. I align the comparator on the centerline of the jaws and set the base in the center of the traveling jaw. I'll try to see if I can get more repeatable measurements since COAL varies from Base to Ogive.

    Bullet Comparators with/without base

I have the Hornady bullet comparator with .30cal insert to measure base to ogive. I do not own their base, but I see a definite need for it. Do you guys feel that you are getting accurate and repeatable measurements without the base? I find I do not. The base of the cartridge walks around...

    tungsten/solid copper rounds? thoughts?

Re: tungsten/solid copper rounds? thoughts? $17.50/bullet is mind blowing for .308. Quite the expensive dope sheet. The .338LP & BMG AP rounds must be off the charts.

Sniper Distances in the movie "Shooter"

Re: Sniper Distances in the movie "Shooter" I've seen that movie several times and thought the same thing. Your question just made me want to find out. I referred to google earth. I found that the tower Swagger scouted is actually not at the same angle as where the shot took place. The...

Rifle Scopes 6x48 screws for bases?

Re: 6x48 screws for bases? I guess I read that wrong. OP, I thought you were talking about enlarging 6-48 to 8-40. GSRswapandslow caught the error, the 700 should be 6-48.

Rifle Scopes 6x48 screws for bases?

Re: 6x48 screws for bases? Unless you have an extremely heavy optic and are shooting the .300WM w/o brake, I wouldn't see how the 6-48 fail that easy. Just maintain necessary torque on everything once in a while.
