    Nice RECCE setup. My shooting buddy has the Burris XTR and really likes it. Here's another pic of mine after a wet and muddy day at a SPR class. Can't disagree with this but, the RECCE configuration is about is close as you can come IMO.

    No worries. Opinions and advice are always welcomed. I went up to 43.8grs of the IMR-4064. Never saw any pressure sign. The groups seemed to open up a bit the higher loading I went though. My old Sierra manual lists the max. for this bullet/powder combo as 44.7grs so I have some room to work...

    Chamber Length & Trimming Question

    I'm in the same predicament. My .308 cases are much shorter than what my chamber measures. Not real sure how to handle it. Trim the cases to the shortest length each time you prep cases and let the brass "grow" at each firing? My cases may reach their usable lifespan by the time this occurs.

    Just one? That would suck but, if I had that only choice I would go with this. Noveske Afghan, suppressed, with the 1.5 x5 Leupold, a backup Aimpoint and as many loaded mags as I could carry.

    I have some Varget loads worked up now for the 175 SMKs. Starting with 43.0 up to 44.00. Waiting on the weather to break and the time to do it. We'll see what happens.

    Walked into a large ACE Hardware yesterday. One that actually has a pretty good gun/sporting goods section but usually very little in the way of reloading components. Wouldn't you know, there sat two pounds of Varget. Bought both of them.

    Been trying to come up with the right powder combo for some 175gr SMKs. This is the best I've been able to come up with so far. 41.2gr of IMR 4064. Too slow for my liking.
