    New from Ohio

Welcome to the Forum. Reynors is likely your best option. I work on Schrock across from the brewery I live near fredericktown. My in laws own 70 acres so I have about 350 yard range. When I go further I shoot at reynors.

Gunsmithing Value of very nice wood - Rough Cut Stock for rifle

How old is the wood? A tree is under stress when it is alive. once it is cut and sawed into blanks that stress begins to relieve itself. Most people wait 5 or more years before contouring a rifle stock from the time the wood is rough sawed.

Gunsmithing I need my scope base screws opened up to 8-40 on a melonited remy 700

Yes the standard Remy is tapped for 6-48 screws. 8-40 are stronger. I got the base for a good price set up for 8-40 and since I had just dropped 2200 for a spuhr mount and atacr I though why not. On a side note chad does great work with a fast turn around.

Cool Idea for temp target stand

Isn't "my" setup I just found d the video. I buy the pea gravel and small bags of concrete meant for post holes. They fit in my Chevy cruze better. I use 2 X2 and run two 1 x 4 between the two stands and staple cardboard sheets (approx 4 by 4 feet) my wife gets when she order a pallet of flour...

Gunsmithing How many times can I use the same degreaser? ~ Cerakote ~

While your setup is ideal I don't think it is realistic for the hobbyist. I went to auto zone and got a few containers for holding used motor oil and a bunch of acetone. I soak the parts in the acetone before and after I gas them out. I then drain the acetone through a strainer into an in line...

    DIY Mirage Shield

They do indeed. Never shot at it though. Reyners is another good one. Both are a bit of a drive and my summers are usually pretty crazy with stuff going on and projects around the house. Goal is to try and get on the mile steel sometime in September.

Sidearms & Scatterguns Knife steels. Which do you like in a folder, fixed?

There is a knife place in Columbus that sells those for $10 or so bucks. Every time I go in I buy one. I put one in all my packs. Excellent knives for the money. cheap and sharp as heck. I used one to butcher a hog. I get the stainless ones and strop them after every use just like my EDC Kershaw...

    DIY Mirage Shield

I love the ATACR. A big step up from the NSX. I get out to 500-600 yards on the farm all the time. out to about 1200 occasionally. when this rifle is back together I'll head out to the range and take it to a mile.
