    Cheek Riser for Wooden Stock

Stock packs are great till you need to make a left handed shot. For me, the pouch on the right side gets in the way. Since most of my rifles are in chassis where that’s not an issue, I went to foam and vet tape for stocks where I didn’t want a permanent riser. Foam from old, thick mouse pads...

Wolf 22LR ammo in kestrel elite with AB

These bricks are from 2012. This rifle got set aside when we moved. Local range only allows targets right in front of the berms. I’ve got a pile of steel targets I used to put out at random distances, range with reticle, shoot, then confirm with laser. A lot less fun being limited to 100, 200...

Wolf 22LR ammo in kestrel elite with AB

I was looking at the bullet library to add my 22 rifle. I see a few rimfire options, but no Wolf? Any suggestions for another ammo that is close enough once adjusted for MV and DSF? Match Target specifically. Thanks

Any tips progressive eyeglasses wearers and scopes?

I use lined bifocals to keep from drifting over the transition when looking through the scope. you will need to adjust the diopter to focus the reticle to your eyes/glasses.

    Welp its opening day

Sadly, my dad didn’t hunt. But we did have fishing trips. Lots of the same “male bonding” activities- beer, cigars, card games, wild stories. I started hunting in my 30’s with friends from work. While I understand what you miss (I miss the same for fishing), it’s really up to you to bring in...

Hunting & Fishing Pics out of or from your blind or stand.

pics from a climber on state land. The underbrush is mountain laurel, average of 4 to 6 feet high. There are times where I can hear footsteps, but all I can see is the brush moving or a flash of white tail. All I can do is follow the movement and hope it steps into one of the small open areas...

    Any C6 corvette fans here?

Very nice! I’ve always had a soft spot for corvettes. If I had an empty garage space I’d be much more tempted to get one. One day….

    Bugnut VS shouldered prefit

I’ve got 4 REM 700 rifles. 2 were custom built. One is a criterion rem nut, one is a bug nut. The bug nut looks a bit cleaner/sleeker than the criterion. I can’t tell the difference between them in terms of how well they shoot. If you have an action that can use shouldered prefits, I can’t...

    Bugnut VS shouldered prefit

Being an engineer that transitioned into sales, I had a boss that told me to always remember there is a di betw being right and being dead right. Makes a difference if you want to build relationships and get sales.

    Winter Shooting Gear

Insulated bibs that zip up the side of the legs. Toasty warm standing around and on/off in seconds. Same with a heavy jacket. Take them off to shoot, put back on standing around.

If you actually want to understand

I don’t think oil is infinite. But, I think we’ve only tapped a small fraction of what’s available. By the time we get remotely close to running out, we’ll have found the next energy technology naturally. There’s no need for the.gov to try to pick a winn and force the issue.

    Thoughts on Athlon scope

That’s a ton of magnification for 1000 yards and in. I’d look for something with a 3 or 4 power on the low end.

Who has the right to ask to see a tax stamp?

Local range here has rule that says RO can ask to see proof. Shooting there one day and there is a fudd there. He’s being a total dick to his daughter and son-in-law and grandsons. He gets tire of abusing his family and comes over dem to see the paperwork for my suppressor. I asked him if he...

Hunting & Fishing Walking in with climber tree stand

sorry, took a little while to get to this. There are 4 clips on each side. The bottom 3 support the weight, the top one keeps it stable. So far I’ve just tested this over a tee shirt. I need to put on the layers I would typically wear when walking out in the morning and see if it still fits well.

    Maggie’s What's Your View II

A few years ago I had a ruffed grouse that would follow me around in the spring. It would startle the shit out of me because it wouldn’t flush until I was 3 or 4 feet away. It d fly far, and came running right back. It was really cool for a few weeks.

Hunting & Fishing Walking in with climber tree stand

What got me started on this was seeing my buddy’s older stand with nice straps. After trying with the shit straps that came with my stand a f different ways, I decided to upgrade. While his old setup isn’t quite as nice as what I just bought, I would have been happy with it for sure!
