Night Vision Both eyes open night shooting?

I don’t want to start a debate on if a 5.56 can kill any of the animals you listed. I believe it can. But you need to stop the animal’s forward movement in 10 yards distance. That’s a big ask. My gut reaction is to say 12 gauge slugs, but that has a whole different set of downsides, too...

First bedding job complete. Need advise.

Sorry, I don’t. There were directions on here a few years back for stress free bedding. You tape the barrel so that it is centered in the channel and the action is where you want it in the stock. Then get long screws to replace your action screws and cut the heads off. You put them in the...

First bedding job complete. Need advise.

Next time put tape around the action screw to keep the bedding out of the hole completely. Less clean up when done.

I know we have some vets on here. I hope they see this and chime in. Poor pup. I hope he’s feeling better soon!

Hunting & Fishing RV Battery replacements?

I’ve had good luck with Deka. Look for glass mat technology in any battery. They have lasted much longer for me.

    Gun mounted notes

I cut out index cards to fit the scope cap, wrote my data on them, and put a piece of clear packing tape over it to give it at least a little protection from the rain. 3 hunting seasons, including some rain and snow, and they still look good. Another cheap option.

Night Vision Helmets! Helmets everywhere! Which is best for NODs?

That’s a big part of the problem. I don’t have a real intended use right now. I want to start walking around state land this year to get better at being able to walk with them. Maybe I’ll get the chance to do some coyote hunting at night? But none of that has a firm requirement for a helmet...

Night Vision Helmets! Helmets everywhere! Which is best for NODs?

I get what you mean. But there is a pretty wide selection of bump helmets out there. Most of us don’t need the deluxe Cadillac version, but don’t want the Chinese crap model either. Any suggestions for basic, no frills, bump helmets? Likewise the pads and straps to go with them? There’s a...

Popped hot for COVID - AMA

@The King How goes the virus recovery? I’ve got a friend we worried would have problems if he got it. He’s grossly overweight, diabetic, asthma, copd, etc. His girlfriend got sick so he got tested. Positive a few times, days apart. He never had so much as a sniffle or fever. You just never know?

Precision Rifle Gear Which Bipod for Field Use?

There are a few threads on here about making your own extensions for the atlas legs. They range from wooden dowels to aluminum tubes. Depends what materials and tools you have available.

    Maggie’s Man's Best Friend Thread

Well, it’s over. I think the anticipation was worse than the deed. That probably sounds bad, but it’s not. The weather was nice here today. We were outside waiting for the vet when she arrived. Timmer got all freaked out at the vet office. Here he was calm. She did what had to be done, he was...

    Maggie’s Man's Best Friend Thread

Thanks guys. I’ve actually got the rainbow bridge poem printed out from our last dog. It is comforting. Maxwell - that statement sums it all up. It’s been a rough weekend. He’s been going down fast. There is no doubt the time has come. But we had the chance to spend with him, so it’s been...

Maggie’s What are you drinking right now!?

How is it? I’ve got to try to find some. My buddy had a Bbq joint with a similar name.

    Maggie’s Man's Best Friend Thread

We rescued Timmer in 2013. He was older than we were told. His hips were weak then, he could barely run. His paws were tender. Walking on a stone driveway or in dry grass cut his pads. He mostly wanted to be in his crate. He didn’t know what it was to be a pet, to be with a family, to be petted...
