    Another Choate Tactical stock review

I've got two of these and think they're great. The bipod mount sucks so I ground the sling stud off, drilled/thread two holes, and put a small piece of rail on it. When it's slid on the Allen screws are tightened and hold everything in place....

    243 Win Loads

I've been using 100V with 95 gr. Bergers with excellent results in my 700. I haven't got around to chrono'ing any yet but am getting 1/2" 5 round groups at 100 yards...

    Rifle Scopes Vortex 2.5-10x32

I have 12 mils of adjustment with a 100 yard zero and some Federal 50 gr. bullets. YMMV.

    Rifle Scopes PST 2.5-10x32 availability

I just ordered an MRAD from EuroOptic and it will be here Friday. I have been more than happy with my other PST's so if is as good as everybody says it is better yet.

Is it me, or the rifle?

Load development is key with the 700's. My 308 won't group better than moa at 100 yards under 2.875 col but once I played with seating depth with 175 gr. smk's at 2.925 col it's a consistent .5 moa with a couple .25 moa's. 175 gr. Berger VLD's will shoot .25 moa at 200 yards but are out at...

anyone use a 22-250 with 1/8 twist barrel?

I was just thinking about how cool a fast twist 22-250 would be the other day. If I were to do a custom rifle this is probably the route I would go. What is the consensus on barrel life on one of these running 75 gr. bullets at 3,000 fps?? Less than a .243 doing the same??

    Rem700 SPS Tactical / 20" barrel load .308

Armydog, Have you tried a longer col?? My Varmint won't shoot until col is 2.900 or longer. 2" groups at 100 yards if I load them to 2.850 but 1/2" at 100 yards loaded to 2.910 with 43.2 grains of Varget pushing a 175 smk...

Gunsmithing Converting AICS Mags..... need help!

I just did some Accurate Mags last week and I don't understand where you guys are coming from with these being a lot of work. I put a good, sharp 1/4" bit in my drill press and punched out the welds, filed the inside to remove any burrs, and re-assembled with each mag taking no longer than 10...

    700 adl

This is an excellent starting point for a precision rig. I have the ADL Varmint and it shoots 175 grain Sierra's and Berger's just fine out to 600 yards (as far as I can get to shoot). If you get a Timney trigger along with the MCS and a decent scope you'll be set-up...

    Progressive or Single Stage?

I would look in to either a Redding or RCBS turret press. It won't be as fast as a progressive but it will be faster than a single stage while making quality ammo.

Little Crow case trimmer, what a time saver.

Got one for 223 and am going to get one for 308/243. I sure beats a hand trimmer..

Rifle Scopes Is the PST 4-16 glass really that bad?

^^^^^ I just sold my 3-15 Weaver and it was liking pulling my teeth and agree with dasher. Very precise tracking, clear glass, and built like a softball chick. A PST took the place of the Weaver that was on my 308 since it was a 6-24 and am very pleased with the replacement. The PST was...

Gunsmithing Surefire MB556k Muzzle Break Misaligned

If it were me I would get the comp within 30 degrees off from top-dead-center and start filing a little off of the bottom of the comp. I had to do this with my PWS to get it lined up correctly...

Berger VLD "jump" and factory chambers

I am running my 175 gr Hunting VLD's .008 off the lands which means a 3.036" COL for my 308. I was trying to run them at a reasonable length for mag feeding but I was just getting MOA with them. I loaded some out per Berger's recommendations and they became a little under 1/2 MOA.

    700 SPS Tactical AAC-SD

My cheap ADL Varmint 308 is capable of 1/4 MOA as long as I take the time and work the loads for it. These rifles are only as accurate as what you feed it and the time you want to put in to it...

    Savage 10 Predator .260

Really?? My gun shop quoted me $769 for the Predator and $969 for the LRP..

    Savage 10 Predator .260

I checked on wait time and both calibers are a couple months out. I reload as well and can find plenty of bullets but no brass. I want to get some Hornady ammo first to shoot then I have the brass to reload..Good luck!!

    Savage 10 Predator .260

I was just in this dilemma and went with the LRP in 6.5 Creedmoor since it comes with the target action and better trigger for only $200 more. I almost went for the Predator since I could of had it in a couple weeks but I figured since I can't find ammo for it I might as wait and get the better...

    Pinched Siatic Nerve

If your a side sleeper a pillow between the legs does wonders. I had horrible sciatic last year at this time and could not get rid of it no matter what stretching or exercise I did. Turned out to be as simple the pillow and within a a couple weeks I was almost 100%. Depending on the day I...
