    Range Report 308 Win, 208 AMax, RL17

If that is the average kind of grouping you get with them heavies....i would not worry to much, that is more than sufficient. The only drawback you might encounter will be not enough speed, so for long range wind and stability might become an issue. But if you seldom shoot beyond 300, than that...

    Range Report 308 Win, 208 AMax, RL17

47 grain of n550 behind a 208? Thats impressive. I started with 45 grain, but that gave me not enough speed. I ended with 46 but this starts to give light pressure signs. I could go to 46.1 but 46 is already a light compressed load. The 46gr gives me 810mps out of a 32inch barrel with 1-10...

Range Report RCBS Chargemaster and Standard Deviation

Today on the range i got these results with ammo loaded with just the CM, no trickling no fancy nuttin...just clean throws, only threw every overweight charge back in the pot; 308w 208amax behind 46gr of N550 touching the lands, first ten rounds: 1- 820mps 2- 809 3- 805 4- 812 5- 812 6- 804 7-...

Range Report RCBS Chargemaster and Standard Deviation

Same here roughly. With the 1010 and a trickler i can get 2 sd, sometimes even one sd. With the Chargemaster it is more around 3-5 sd, and when i'm lazy and dont throw the little overweighed charges back in, than they tend to grow a bit higher, but neveranything over 9. For benchresting it might...

Range Report Applied Ballistics program Analytics

hi there, was wondering if anyone has bought the analytics program from Bryan Litz already. It features the WEZ program, which i find very interesting, however, i am having some issues with it, and would like to know if others have encountered the same "problems". i am running it on...

Night Vision Major Disappointment: FLIR BHS-XR 65mm

Hmm, strange, i have used the same model and overhere we are able to spot foxes out to 300m, and bigger animals like horses and cows out to 600m easily. You cant tell if it is a dog or a fox or if it is a horse or cow at those distances, but at least it tells you there is something living...

    The PIG Saddle is here...

Finally got one too, shipping was indeed very fast, unfortenatly our customs are very slow, so it took an extra 7 days to reach me, while it only took 5 days to get to my country. Quality is top notch, looking forward to give it a good try on the range.

Kestrel, valuable tool or waste of money?

It is very nice to know the windstrenght with the windtronic....but you still need to find out from what direction it is blowing. So even with a windtronic you need an extra action to determine the wind direction. Same goes for the kestrel, if you do not use the bt capability, then the need for...

Kestrel, valuable tool or waste of money?

Hmmm....a windtronic is a nice piece for the money, if your only interested in wind speed. However, any 4*** kestrel is by far superior, there is no comparising, but than again, thats why your paying more for it. D.A. is one of the more important differences but not the only, you get so much...

Rifle Scopes What magnification scope to 1 mile?

Those articles are also shown in the book "Precision shooting at a 1000yards" by Dave Brennan. Very nice setup indeed, with micormeter elevation knobs on top of those mega high scope bases. However, in the book he is using 308w ackley improved, if i remember correctly.

Rifle Scopes What magnification scope to 1 mile?

The only thing you are going to be missing ALOT is the target....12 inch plate at a mile?? You better have a backstop that will show the impacts of your bullits very visible....otherwise it is going to be a lot of wasted rounds. This wil mean you and your rifle setup will have to hold .6-.7 moa...

    advise on chrono

We own both the oehler 35p aswell as the magneto V2. Both are acccurate and both have plus and min points. I have tested them both in the follwing setup; the 35p at 3m infront of the muzzle and the magneto attached to the barrel. After shooting about 50 shots with 5 rifles, the results were...

Rifle Scopes Little to no elevation after zero

First check if the scope is broken or not, internally. Just fixate the rifle, aim at a target 100m or y away and have dots lined vertically with an even number of moa's or mills on the target. Then click you elevatio the same amount up and down and watch if all movement of the reticle work...

    Rifle Scopes NF 3.5x15x50 F1 or S&B PMII 3x20x50

Scope preferences is always turning into a this is better than that sort of competition...no matter if you ask the question on the internet or face to face...the end result is always the same; people share and talk about there own experiences. And rightly so. Same goes for my experiences. I...

    Sako TRG

I am the third owener of my trg 22. It was built in 2000 and after almost 14.000 shots it started opening up to 1-1.25 moa 5shot groups. I have upgraded the stock with a folder and i have had the 26 inch origenall barrel cut back to 20 inch. It now shoots 3/4 moa groups, more than satisfying for...

    Rifle Scopes Spuhr mount-AIAE

My english is not the best, so maybe i misunderstood, but does Spuhr not make mounts especially for AI rifles...so you do not need to have a picatinny rail installed? Same as for the TRG. Spuhr - Mounts for AI

    Drop Charts

I have to give it a try yet, but first impressions; these dropcharts are based on altitude....personally i favour drop charts based on density altitudes, since they give more accurate real world drop data. A drop chart for 10.000feet is nice, but how accurate is it going to be when tomorrow the...

Statement from Kestrel. Battery corrosion. Must Read.

A poorly engineerd defective product? Almost every professional sniper around the globe is using some form of kestrel.....let alone the milions of sportshooters and hunters who have them laying around.... Wow what a statement...you sound like the woman who put her poedel dog after washing in a...
