    I was going to try a 6061 rod but it had quite a bit of movement in it since I was using most of the 2'. In the end, I just ordered a 12" section from MK, screwed it together, and have never looked back. It's way more stable. YMMV

    I was able to further test two bullets (180 Hybrids and 166 ATips) and two powders (H4831SC and N-165) today. I liked what I saw. Out of my Archimedes SA and 28" barrel, I got the 180s up to 2876 and 2935 with N-165 and H4831SC respectively. That said, I'm starting to think the real unsung hero...

    Quick little update on this topic. The modified case I am using is a Hornady case with the mouth pushed out to 7mm. I used a 0.284 mandrel to expand it, but it wasn't enough to allow the bullet to slide easily. My buddy made me a 0.288 and it worked fine except that I had trouble getting it...
