    M24-Rebuild anyone recieve one ?

Those red caps go on the laser filter(EMA) not on the ARD portion and will fit in the optics case on the EMA. As for the empty space, I have seen a white lens brush in there (part of the optics cleaning kit), mine holds the extra dials/cams and inserts for the iron sights nicely(yes I know they...

The Ultra M3a and Mark 4 M3/LRT are discusse and pictured back on page 9 of this thread, as for how many were used on the M24, roughly 4500, add to that any that were replaced and take away the number of Mark 4 M3/LRT used on later production rifles.

    M24-Rebuild anyone recieve one ?

The elevation cam for the Ultra M3a is calibrated for M118 SB MV 2580-2600, M118LR and FGMM is roughly the same in velocity and elevation adjustments on the M24 with M3a in my M24. The preset marks on the cam are not exact and will vary from weapon to weapon and ammo to include different lots.

You can try soaking them in acetone, If it wasn't baked the duracoat will come off, if not look up GunBlack in New York and have them refinished, they do excellent work.

That ema you have there is a newer version for the m110 which differs from the m24 ema, you guys need to watch the market boards, an original sold on eBay a few weeks ago. For instance, there's a Dakota M24 floormetal on gunbroker. On another note, I and others have put a lot of time into...

Maximum effective range of Vectronix LRFs on non NATO targets.

I recently got a Leica Vector IV and so far I have ranged white tails out to 500 and cows 2000+, it is amazing the obscure items it will hit though, small bushes at 1500 and dirt banks at the lake to 6010. By far the most impressive RF on the market.

One thing to keep in mind on this endeavor, while the basic flash hider is the same for both type of front sight bases the Remington sight base takes a thinner lock ring while the OK Webber base uses a thicker one. The lock ring slips on first and has a notch to clear the front sight base...

Best Range Finder Performer...Leica Geovid HD-B vs Swarovski EL Range vs Zeiss Victory RF

I used to use a Bushnell 1600 ARC to range my white E silhouette out to 1050 and it worked for me during range setup. Now I have a Vector IV and there is no comparison save the 21/23, it will range day or night and the binoculars are top notch.

If you can provide Remington with a legit serial number, and they will verify, the current price on the optics case with foam is $233.14, otherwise watch ebay as Eodsix advises, they have sold for 150+ over the past 2 years.

The first 100 M24s were delivered on 25 October 1988 and another 100 on December 20th. Remington was awarded the contract on 22 July 1987, test weapons were submitted on 13 October 1987 and first prototype for military trials on 28 October 1987. I seriously doubt that Panama got these before...

Yes, only thing on the SS 5R in common with the M24 is the rifling and ofcourse being made by Remington, the M24 has many specific parts that are not available on commercial riflles.

The action screws are not stainless on the M24, so the if the action screws are the proper length on the donor rifle use them.

HS Precision makes a good stainless floor metal mag combo, if you want a mag, its drop in to their stock and I have it on my LTR, works great for a flush fit, only 4 rounds though but 10 round mags are available.

Yes, the long action was to convert to .300WM, that '06 buisness is total nonsense. The Leupold 2 piece bases are the way to go for sure and they are spec as well as used on the latest production rifles, making one in left hand is certainly possible but a pricey endeavor and may not be worth...
