    Army M24 Build Thread

Re: Army M24 Build Thread The rear iron sight base screw holes are in fact drilled all the way through the side of the action, they are 6-48 tap, as for exact dimensions I would shop around and find someone who knows what they are doing, such as Mike Lau at TBA as it needs to be done...

    Army M24 Build Thread

Re: Army M24 Build Thread Close enough, sure if you care nothing for details, I wouldn't even use that on a clone, that particular Champions base is way off, too many holes top and bottom, it replicates the Redfield 40X, which was not used on the M24.

    Army M24 Build Thread

Re: Army M24 Build Thread If you want the Redfield sight bases, both front and rear you have 2 options, watch ebay and gunbroker or call Outback gun parts, they will make what you want save the 60 degree bevel on the rear base, as Eodsix posted, back track in the thread you will find the...

    Army M24 Build Thread

Re: Army M24 Build Thread That idea is not going to work on the butt pad swap, those 1 inch thich HS butt pads are epoxied on that metal and the metal is not flat either, I tried that earlier this year as a buddy found one in his parts bin.

Rifle Scopes why do so many bash the mark 4s

Re: why do so many bash the mark 4s I have 2 Leupold scopes myself and they work just fine, have not seen any of the tracking problems reported by others, I recently had the chance to run my M24 with Ultra M3a all the way out to 1050M and went up and down the elveation range back to zero many...

Rifle Scopes Leupold Mk 4 scopes

Re: Leupold Mk 4 scopes Leupold does not use a wire mildot reticle anymore, the football shaped wire mildot was done for them by Premier, when they cut ties they lost the capability. The ER/Ts are the same glass as the LR/Ts, and not all are FFP, Leupold makes several FFP however if it is...

Sidearms & Scatterguns Marines to field Colt .45 1911

Re: Marines to field Colt .45 1911 Really, you would rather have a Glock? I can agree with that as I like them, in fact Glocks are all I own now. Had Sigs too for many years till I changed, both good pistols.

    Suppressors Form 4 wait time

Re: Form 4 wait time I never let anyone handle the paperwork, I do all the leg work myself and submit via certified mail, that way at least I know it went out. A friend had the same problem, dealer says they will handle it and a year later he still does not have his can but al least it is...

    Gunsmithing Rustoleum clear coat foggy

Re: Rustoleum clear coat foggy Yes, I have had this happen many times, never really paid attention to humidty but I do know that if the clear is old it will do this, always test the clear first on a stick or something sacrificial and use real light coats, also be sure to shake the can for 2-3...

    Army M24 Build Thread

Re: Army M24 Build Thread There is and easy way to figure this, the original FH was engineered for the Remington 40X front sight base that is .170 high, so the lock ring has a shallow clearance notch. The OK Webber front base being taller, .375 if memory serves, has the larger diameter...
