    Rifle Scopes Glass comparison

Re: Glass comparison I have a Weaver Tactical 4-20x50, and a Sightron II 4.5-14x42. Before deciding on the Weaver I looked through the Vortex PST & the Weaver in stores (and the PST at the range) - thought the Weaver glass was much better so went with it. My opinion is that both the...

Range Report 6.5 Creedmoor w/140Amax hand loads

Re: 6.5 Creedmoor w/140Amax hand loads Quite right. Thanks also to Gerald Kuthy of Custom Blue for building a real shooter! I don't know Gerald, but I think the way this build shoots speaks for itself; there's no better endorsement than how a rifle performs. I'm still giving some credit to...

    This brother nails it.

Re: This brother nails it. I agree. It would be very beneficial to the discussion for MrColionNoir to get some (a lot would be better) national air time. He could more than hold his own with Piers Moron - oops, inadvertent spelling error - I meant Morgan.

Long range ranges around Ft Stewart GA?

Re: Long range ranges around Ft Stewart GA? I haven't shot there, but the closest long range (1000 yd) range to you that I've heard of is Cool Acres, near Swainsboro. http://www.coolacressportingcamp.com/ Also, the National Shooting Sports Foundation has a "find a range" site that may be of...

    Dan Newberry and OCW?

Re: Mail Call Mondays Thanks for the excellent and timely safety message LoneWolf! Please, everyone always go over those 4 gun safety commandments whenever you take guests or youngsters shooting. And whenever anyone has contact with your firearms. Those four commandments are redundant for...

    Chrono's are they worth it?

Re: Chrono's are they worth it? I also recommend the Competition Electronics' Pro Chrono. Mine seems accurate and is definitely reliable. Two other members at my range also have one and like it. One of these uses the Pro Chrono to establish ballistics for students' rifles as part of long...

Range Report 6.5 Creedmoor w/140Amax hand loads

Re: 6.5 Creedmoor w/140Amax hand loads My average velocity for 12 rounds over a Pro Chrono was 2751 fps - that's with the 42.0gn of H4350. For what it's worth, the SD was 13fps, but that's not really enough rounds clocked to get a reliable SD.
