Gunsmithing Can anyone recommend a good gunsmith in Virginia?

Re: Can anyone recommend a good gunsmith in Virginia? Clay Spencer without a doubt. He installed one of his barrels on my 700 in 6.5 Lapua. The work is amazing. .25 out of the box without trying. Only thing is. Get all your parts and bring them to him. The stock is going to be the hump...

    77/22 Group Stock Buy?

Re: 77/22 Group Stock Buy? Latest news...nothing. Boyd's is ignoring my questions. I've been looking at Richard's microfit. http://rifle-stocks.com/tactical.htm Seems they have a dizzying selection and call out 77/22. I'm going to contact them but the question is which one?

Gunsmithing 9. HOW-TO: Ultimate AR: DPMS LR..... Idiocity fix

Re: 9. HOW-TO: Ultimate AR: DPMS LR..... Idiocity fix Seems like with only a few threads engaged material is not important. Steel would definetly be better. If you could get full contact then aluminum would be OK, I guess. This looks like a fairly easy part to make. I'm installing a new...

    Gunsmithing stiller actions delivery date

Re: stiller actions delivery date I met Jerry last year at SHOT. Great guy. I'm interested in one of his .22LR actions. He said just email him to get on the list. No money, do it with a handshake. That is class.

    Suppressors 40 S&W vs 9mm

Re: 40 S&W vs 9mm I have both 40's and 9mm's. The .40 has more of a snap type recoil. Shoot both if you can before making a decision. You'll get some idea. I knew Uzi Galil and I asked him what he thought about a particular pistol. He said he's only fired about 1,000 thru it so he hadn't...

Looking to do an AR build with a bit more reach

Re: Looking to do an AR build with a bit more reach When I built my 6.5 Lapua it came down to the Lapua and the Creedmore. Creedmore lost out down to unavailability of brass at the time. Just as happy with the Lapua. Damned near flat out to 300 yd.

    WD-40 in gun cases

Re: WD-40 in gun cases WD-40 ... Water Displacement - 40th formula tried. Use it on wet distributors but as a preservative? No. Breakfree is better but the real problem with rust in cases is the fact that the open cell foam that is typically used in cases like Pelicans holds moisture. I...

Rifle Scopes Mil-MOA conversion Technical question

Re: Mil-MOA conversion Technical question You know guys, there are a number of rules used in Government Program Management and this is a prime example...we declare that first "this horse is not dead," and two we declare that "no horse is too dead to beat." But tribal wisdom states that when...

Re: Just Finished Abbigails AR Great gun. Mine started with an MP-5 with a .22 kit in it. "we have to go home Honey." Why? "We're out of ammo." You can go inside and buy more. Beware, you've been warned.

    77/22 Group Stock Buy?

Re: 77/22 Group Stock Buy? If Boyd's doesn't come through we'll look elsewhere. Once I find someone that will do it then we'll settle on detail. Swivels are a good idea.

Rifle Scopes I may regret this

Re: I may regret this The cross hairs are very thin and the windage knob does not click like the elevation knob. They send me new pieces to fix the knob but I was a little concerned that they had a preprinted instruction sheet to install the new part. The glass is beyond belief (5-25) and...
