Who makes the best "Lightweight" stock?
I have an SPS Tac with a 16.5"(varmit) in an EH1 and the balance is nice...I wouldn't hesitate at all to go to 18"... I would guess 20" to be ok,but probably at the limit... Flutes might help a wee bit,but that's another story...- brwn bggr

I haven't made "cop" talk with any of my chums,in a very long time so anything I think I remember is probably wrong... But I was curious as to why you didn't use Remington's LE discount... Did Remington stop doing that or was the price still higher than a what you ended up paying...???- brwn bggr

Gunsmithing New Barrel Fouling
I've only had one cut barrel,a Rock, 5 R that was installed by GAP... Even during break in, it was the easiest cleaning barrel I've ever seen... Copper fouling was always light and cleaned up easily... Much better than any button rifled barrel I've had...- brwn bggr

Gunsmithing Best release agent for bedding?
Paste wad for release... I used acraglas for a while,then steel bed... Had a few guys that didn't like the grey color so I went to the gel... I could sprinkle a bit of Rit dye in and they could be happy... Been using the gel for quite some time now,don't know if it's better or worse,I've never...- brwn bggr

I must admit...I'm surprised your department would allow you to change out a trigger... Let alone allow you to use a rifle that is on a recall list without at least a trip back to the manufacturer... Nice price though,I paid $610.00 just before the recall and thought I had a deal...- brwn bggr

I'm not discounting your knowledge... it may well be more than mine... But though I choose to free float,all the time,I've seen pressure pads work well on settling down light weight rifles with a pencil barrel... A wood stock barrel with a pad can change zero over night...erratically A...- brwn bggr

As already mentioned,tool geometry, sharpness ,speeds,feeds,indeed will all effect induced stress... There are people out there trying to get the last amount of life out of their cutters, in the least amount of time...these people should not be fluting barrels,or machining anything else for that...- brwn bggr
