    LOL! Good point. They are not too pretty, but effective for Varmint when messing around. PS - at the 500 yards I was OK with just hitting the ~8” plate. The larger plate has more dispersion. Really hope to dial in the load a bit more. Ive heard this caliber is finicky; well its proving such.

    I do have a 224 Valkyrie AR running a Craddick Precision chambered Bartlein 1:7 twist. It does ok with factory and a little better with hand loads. Maybe a little under MOA on average. Steel is 500 yards Paper targets are 100 yards. Not super impressive but the load I’m working on is...

    Oregon would be nice. Bet the scenery for shooting is awesome. I doubt my daughter would lead a group of recovery, but for a trip like that she may have to consider it.

    R700 Barrel Swap, And…?

    Don’t get me wrong, I really like my trued Rem 700’s. Both are super smooth. When starting from scratch I go custom. Think I’ve bought my last factory 700 a long time ago. Nothing wrong with a tuned up 700 receiver.

    Maybe consider Phoenix Custom Rifles. They had a short turnaround recently. Personally I would recommend truing the action. May check your monetary investment in that action+truing compared to a custom action. Sometimes it’s nearly a toss up depending on the custom action you select.

    Anyone with #14 M24 bartlein carbon?

    I have a Bartlein 22” M24 Carbon Blank that is 0.900-0.902” at muzzle. Just measured it. The end is not very square unfinished so an accurate measure is difficult.

    To remove the Cerakote it must be media blasted. It will need to be recoated or polished out afterwards. Ive coated many bolts without issue. Tolerance stacking can be problematic, but gumming up over time is generally not an issue. Maybe an E-series thing (I dont like E-series). When...

    It was a friend’s gun. We shot it a good bit. He loves it so far. No hunts. Super light and balanced. No complaints from me. Only chassis Ive seen I would own due to weight.
