    Defiance Machine

That makes sense. I know prep work can make a world of difference when coating.

    Defiance Machine

Curious as to why you don't order them already DLC coated from defiance since its offered now? I have a coated one that is very nice but it was done after the fact along with a little other work and its extremely nice. I haven't messed much with the factory DLC ones though in comparison.

    Any Mc3 stock arrivals?

I picked up a non adjustable hunting mc3 off the prize table st a nrl match. I didn't realize it was a long action stock so I talked my dad into trying it out. He really likes it over the b&c that he had. Its feels very much like a my a3-5 but made out of hs material if that makes sense.

PRS Talk Cans, Brakes, Impacts & Trace

I'm no top level shooter fwiw but I won't run a brake anymore. I ran one for 3yrs and it got to the point after a 2 day match in a dusty environment I would end up with a sinus infection. Switching to the can required so getting used to but it's not too bad. I'll say if you have multiple cans...

Ultimate Youth rifle purchase or build (suggestions)

My 10yr old daughter runs my old McMillan a3-5 with all the spacers pulled out pretty well. It's in 223ai form when she runs it so between that the weight of the rifle and the can it's very tame.

Range Report Shooting in Texas winds

Seen some similar scenarios at the nrl match in Nebraska (formally the battle of Breakneck) this year. Was interesting for myself being it's pretty flat here in north Texas.

    Sling Recommendations

I have slings from tab gear, rifles only (carbine bungee) and Short action precision. All are top notch.

Range Report Shooting in Texas winds

I've had to hold 2 miles with a 6 creed at 400 here in north texas. Fun times.

    Reduced Load 6Creed

A higher case fill is typically what one wants. I would recommend a slower powder to keep the case fill up. Something like 4831, rl23 or 4955. I use this method running 115 with 23 going 2950. It's a nice low pressure load in comparison with most. Ran it with 105 ref from a 22" tube at 2900 a...

    Suppressed Shorty Bolt Action Varminter

I've not used the hornady on critters but based on others I'd run them without hesitation. In fact I have a bunch of 80gr eld loaded in my 223ai that will get used some this season. The 80 and 90gr Berger vld kill everything from small varmints to deer out of my 22 creed just fine.

Info on JEC Customs - Brakes, etc

Get in touch with Scott at live oak accuracy. He had a good amount of the original jec brakes on hand a few years back and has also made an updated version that is self timing.

    Lets see those defiance builds.

DLC Deviant with a 6.5x47 barrel on it in the pic sitting in a Manners PRS1.

    Show me your McMillan’s

It is a rrs not sure which model as it was one provided at a match. The tripods are absolutely awesome although I personally can't shoot worth a darn from them when clamped in for some reason my dope will run high when doing so. I prefer to throw a bag on top and shoot off it.

Rifle Scopes Anyone using the Revic PMR at matches

I've played with a friends and I think it would work just fine at matches.

    Caliber change question....

Yup easy barrel swap. The 280ai even has factory formed brass.

Rifle Scopes Tell us about failure...

Had a gen 1 razor go down in the middle of a match. The vertical screws on top of the "zeroing turret" under the main turret backed out thus giving it a +/- .2-.4 variation. Vortex told me they had not seen that before and I've yet to hear of similar from anyone else. Either way they fixed it...

    PRS Talk Favorite COF/ Stages

I'm a big fan of field style matches with targets on the smaller side of the scale. Though typically I really don't care as long as theres no ridiculously stupid prop to shoot off of like a turkey chair on a floating platform with paracord for a rifle rest. I'm with Mo on loose points stages...

    Surgeon Action Marking

I agree Mike. I was more referring to the "difference between them" question.
