Good Score Sunday (SR90 + ACOG)

I've never shot 175s tighter than I can with 168s. Horizontal stringing is typically the human with inconsistent eye relief, bipod pressure, and/or head and cheek placement. Windage is typically the human not catching shifts and/or compensating for wind.

My Q-Course apartment mate had one. Man, that was a beautiful rifle.

My guess (and strictly conjecture) is probably the SR-25K carbine -- not for long-range use but inside 600 yards.

    The perplexity of ar10 loads

I don't know Wilsons. Let's establish a start point -- what is your gas port diameter? Does the PWS have a piston?

It wasn't the USAMU's failure to request approval for combat use (remember, the USAMU established the sniper mobile training teams that instructed in Vietnam, then post-war through 1987 when Fort Benning established the infantry's sniper school). The Army's Tank Automotive and Armament Command...

anyone out there doing tenkara style fly fishing?

I fished a lot of skinny water in New Mexico, Colorado, and Utah. One of my best friends has an isolated pond on his land in Montana with native cutthroats. His wife will fish that pond and some really small streams with a tenkara and land some decent sized trout. All in the presentation...

    Army M24 Build Thread

Very interesting but seems to contain some revisionist history. I still have cans and boxes in the garage marked "M852 7.62mm Match. NOT FOR COMBAT USE," as shown in the last two photos (bottom right) above. COL Hayes Parks' determination (as the DOD Staff Judge Advocate) that M852 (and Match...

    SR25 Upper Compatibility

Sid, I traded a Criterion barrel to a guy from arfcom and tacswap. He's got a listing where he had two or three of them. Yes, same pin sizes for KAC-LMT. The rear pin boss is correct for the KAC lower pocket, just a skoshi wide for the LMT (will probably need very light sanding). Troy...

    resizing range pickup 5.56 brass

If you're a brasshole who can't pass up a case you find on the range here's a technique that will save you all kinds of ass-pain: get a small-base sizing die and use a Sheridan case gage (especially in something like a 650 or 750, or equipped with an automatic case feeder). Why? You won't...

AR-10 Precision Rifle Shopping - Need Some Input & Advice

Like any other rifle system, factory-made isn't going to compare to a custom build. Seekins and GAP are closer to small-shop assembled guns vice big factory production turning out dozens to hundreds per day. What's your budget and (as you mentioned) what's your patience limit if having one...

    Steel Target Range Setup

There are a few different ways. You can lay out (as mentioned above) a single bank of targets with firing berms at different distances. Your target cost will be less but you'll need to change firing points for training and gathering data. Another method is to put targets at known, measured...

What’s the art behind hunting rifle accuracy

There's a reason sniper rifles have heavier barrels. First shot consistency is a premium when your targets can kill you at the same distance you're shooting at them. A friend asked why my hunting rifle is a Remington 700 Varmint. "How many rounds do you usually load in your rifle, and how...

    Range card DIY “overlay”?

There used to be transparency sheets you could run through a laser printer to make overlays. No idea if they still carry that kind of thing at Staples or the big box office stores. You can make your own with acetate or a document protector and a fine-tip Sharpie pen.
