    It's kinda like which shoes are comfortable. You really don't know until you put them on and take a stroll. Try to find one of each and take a look. It's really the only way to know. The 4x-16x has been going cheap lately because it is being discontinued so do some looking around.

    You were most likely looking at the specs for the 4x erector system scopes. They have 19 mils of elevation in the turrets. The 5x systems have 26 mils. Germany suggests a 45 MOA canted base. That will get you the 26 mils if you need it.

    Yes there is a limit of 19.5 mils in the turret itself because it is limited to 2 rotations. There is quite a bit more overall elevation travel in the scope itself. With 27 MOA built in you will be good to go and will most likely still have the full 19.5 mils in the turret not that you will...

    Almost correct. :) The 4x scopes are manufactured and assembled here with the exception of the glass. The glass quality is identical however they are based on different optical platforms and will have slight differences. I'm not sure about any upcoming promotions just yet.

    They are all 34mm with the exception of the 1x-4x and the 1x-5x. Everything is built on German glass regardless of manufacturing location. The second rotation indicator on the 5x German scopes is called a Duo-Scale system. I hope that answers your questions.

    I think you will be ok with the 20moa you currently have but you most likely will not have full use of all 26 mils you have built into that scope. Adding another 20 moa will get you the full 26 but I doubt you will need that much with the rifle you are using it on.

    Yes both brands are owned by Beretta. NONE of the 5x military scopes are made in the US. All 3 of those scopes are made in Germany.
