Wow. That's some serious stretching. Good brass like that and only so few firings...somethings not jiving. Have you tried neck sizing?

Gunsmithing Part Failure: Swapping Bolts in a 700?

Check head space for sure but you may also want to check and make sure the counter bore in the barrel is ample for the new bolt.

How Accurate can an AR SPR really be?

Good ARs shoot good. Most of todays seem to be competing with bolt gun accuracy. I run a 1-7 twist 16" barrel with a mid length gas system and it loves the 69grn SMK bullets.

better than 1/2MOA. The last two outings I had very good groupings at both 100yrds and 500yrds. I'm currently running this second rifle with a 7 twist. It handles the 90's way better at higher velocities than my 7.7 twist.

For the dies its a 100% completed outside with a reamed center. I use a PTG floating reamer holder which is a true...

I have made some modifications to the rifle. I recently trued the action and bolt, now i'm setting back the barrel a smudge and timing run out. We may see a difference in how it shoots with the same previously used 80 and 90 grain bullet loads.

not too familiar with the "middlestead" but if it's just a 22/243 or 22-08 but I'd imagine that it would be comparable like the .260 is to the 6.5 cm or the .243 win to the 6mm cm.

Oh ok. Good to know we are in the same boat. I too am currently working on an AR10. So far so good. It's gunna be a slayer lol. I haven't had time to go calling but I cant wait to see the damage it does. Did you guys have any trouble in determining gas port size and gas tube length?
