    Re: Anyone got the Vortex Viper in stock??? I would call Adorama on Monday, they did have mill/mil 2.5-14x44, they might have yours. They also sell though Amazon, so you can check there, but you get a better price when you deal with them directly.

    Re: horsehide carry belt After carrying 1911's for a few years, I just settled on Wilderness Tactical nylon with plastic inserts. Everything else eventually lost stiffness and became uncomfortable, including Milt Sparks.

    Re: Time to retire from the Military looking for home Oklahoma is a very gun and military-friendly "red" state. Cost of living is quite low, and there are plenty of public amenities near OKC and Tulsa.

    Re: Anyone got the Vortex Viper in stock??? I would CALL first. Optics Planet has a funny way of (not) notifying me when things are not in stock. I got a Viper 2.5-1.x44 through Adorama Camera, NY, at a better-than-advertised price when I called and spoke to them.

    The new one is in the foreground. Seems VERY light, and I am keeping it that way, with just the TA11 Acog on it. This will be my "go-to" rifle. The other is also a 16", but for more precision-type shooting, with a 2.5-10x44 Vortex up top, and a bipod.
