    Re: Where to get a blow out kit Original S.O.E you can get a fully stocked detachable IFAK from john for about $100. Comes with an Isreali trauma bandage, tk4 tourniquet and some other goodies. +1 on the Tampons....my unit handed them out my last rotation. Look for OSOE on face book.

    Re: New 1911 I have a Limber TE II with the schwartz safety, 684 trouble free rounds though it. Never had a malfunction. Take a look at the Warrior if you don't want the schwartz safety, it almost exactly the same as my TE II without the scwartz and magwell.

    Re: How would you build a .308 from ground up? 300sniper - good point, I would go that route because the 700 AAC SD give pretty decent bang for the buck, but I suppose given the budget its kind of unnecessary. I just thought it was a good starting point...more for an incremental upgrade...

    Re: How would you build a .308 from ground up? I would start with a Remington 700 AAC SD, send the action in to be trued, get a pt&g bolt. At that point decide if you want the bolt fluted, what bolt knob etc. Then upgrade the stock (I'd like to go with manners or McMillan). I got the Larue...
