    Sloppy R700 bolt?

The bushing route is a gunsmith thing: http://pacifictoolandgauge.com/receiver-truing-kits/18262-remington-receiver-mandrel-bushing-set-7-piece.html Regarding a replacement bolt, the aftermarket is likely to be your best bet, because aftermarket bolts can often be had in a variety of diameters...

    Sloppy R700 bolt?

If it's tight once it's locked in, it's functionally fine, and accuracy won't be affected. If the feel of it bothers you, then either bolt replacement or action bushing is in your future... or you can just deal with it and shoot it.

    Bolt coatings.

Does anyone know what Cryptic Coatings' Mystic Black is? I have one of their BCGs, and it's slicker than greased owl shit. I have DLC on other parts, and this stuff isn't that. Unfortunately, Cryptic won't coat customer parts, but I figure that they aren't the only place on the planet doing this...

Caliber suggestions for large bore suppressed shorty

I'm juuuuust about to put the finishing touches on a Ruger American Ranch originally chambered in 450 Bushmaster, but re-chambered to 45 Raptor. With a projectile diameter of .452, you don't have quite the selection that you do at .458, but it is possible to swage down .458 projectiles of some...

Am I missing something? The suppressor in this ad isn't even made by Griffin.

    Barrel removal problem

When I did mine, I made sure that it was far enough back that I wasn't squeezing the action between the action wrench and the barrel tenon. That said, it IS possible that where I clamped the wrench distorted the action such that the action its self was basically oval-shaped which caused it to...

Suppressors New Silencer! Bushwhacker 46 (Gen2) with ECO-FLOW™ technology!

While I get that you guys with the Bushwhacker v1 cans are pissed, I don't know that it's fair to imply that Griffin intentionally used the early adopters as Guinea pigs or knew from day one that improvements were in the pipeline; are any of you familiar with the concept of kaizen/continuous...

Rifle Scopes ARC M10 Catastrophic failure?

Certainly not catastrophic, and easily preventable, the only issue I've had with them is the pivot pin wanting to slide out. Easily prevented by a small dab of superglue on one end (ONLY) of each pin. Beyond that, if I had the cash to do it, they'd be the only rings I'd run.

    Barrel removal problem

As a veteran of one factory Tikka barrel removal, I'd recommend a minimum of one week spent soaking the tenon threads with penetrating oil from inside the action (can even couple this with mildly heating the action with a heat gun), a barrel vise cranked down TIGHT, an action wrench clamped on...

Suppressors Anyone ever try one of these "Fuel Filters" from LAFOAUTO?

Well, a buddy tried one of these and got less than impressive results. Indicated the end cap to .0005" TIR and put a letter I (.272") drill bit through it. When screwing in on the test rifle (which has successfully hosted multiple "real" suppressors without a hitch), a significant lack of...

    AT308 vs AX308

To be honest, I arrived at that number via kind of creative deduction... Mile High's price for the AX butt stock conversion is about $100 higher than Euro Optics', but it includes installation. I have no idea what they'd charge if you sent them the parts and just wanted them to perform the labor.

Those that clean with CLR, flush it with anything afterwards

On the rare occasions when I use it, I'll run several dry patches, then one soaked with either rubbing alcohol or Coleman fuel/white gas, then more dry patching, then an oil patch and a final dry patch.

    Desert Tech MDR Opinions?

I have long thought that a side-eject port cover for the MDR would be a great accessory because as others have said, the forward eject is great and all, but I have to question whether or not it's worth the headaches (that said, mine works pretty well). It just seems like a complication that...

    Tikka, Bergara or Howa..

While I can't speak for @stilesg57, my experience is that the Howa HACT trigger with the OEM spring cut back ~1.25 coils and adjusted for minimal pull weight is lighter and easily as clean as the Tikka trigger with an aftermarket (yodave or similar) spring installed. Even though I tend to prefer...

    Tikka, Bergara or Howa..

Obviously the recoil lug design works, or Tikka rifles wouldn't have the reputation for accuracy that they do. For me, it's one of those things to where I can't argue with the results, but I'm not as comfortable with it as I would be a traditional "tombstone" style recoil lug, especially for...
