    I'm running this stock adapter and an MFT Minimalist stock. For an optic/sights I'm running a See-All on a 1/2" pic riser. IMO, the optic/sight that you run will determine the cheek weld (and therefore stock) that you'll want in order to be comfortable.

    I freely admit that I could be wrong here, but I think that the reason that longer gas systems work while longer (pigtail) gas tubes don't work is that the longer system offers lower gas pressure at the port than would the shorter system with the pigtail tube.

    For Tikka pre-fit barrels in the Sherman chamberings, take a look at Patriot Valley Arms. Also, Preferred Barrel Blanks will work with you if you order a barrel and want to rent a reamer from Sherman so they can chamber it for you.

    Why not go AR15 and 450 Bushmaster? While not *technically* a straight wall cartridge, it's still Ohio legal for deer... and the AR15 is smaller/lighter/less expensive than AR10 variants. That said, if you want the Raptor over the Bushmaster for the option of running full power big-boy loads...

    I would expect a quality .22LR can to be a good option for this... one rated for .22 magnum and/or 5.7x28. Having played with only two .22 cans (SiCo Sparrow and TacSol Axiom), I am confident that either of them would be a good option for you. That said, if I were to buy a .22 can right now...
