I'm pretty sure it would be hard to get a proper focus that way. Like Frank said, its lining up the reticle with the fall of gravity, which is always straight. I adjust the parallax so it is nice and sharp, then line up my vertical crosshair on the hard edge.
I typically use that method also. I use 1/4 inch rope, tie a few weights to it and hang it off a tree branch about 60-70 yards away. A no wind day of course
howdy guys.. just picked up a Defiance Machine Deviant action. What are you recommendations on a finish? I’ve heard Cerakote is too thick and will bind the action. The folks at Defiance recommended Something called Diamond coat. Thoughts?
Not sure if my comment helps any, but I did leave my Peltors out in the rain once accidentally . And of course they were dead. After popping the cups and letting everything air dry they were good to go again.
