Rifle Scopes S&B Ultra Short 3-20 vs standard PM2 3-20

Is the exit pupil diameter a measure of the "eye box"? It looks like 5-20US, the 3-20US, and the 3-20 PMii all have the same exit pupil diameter at 20X. I've heard that the 5-20US has a tight eye box. Is this a subjective thing, or a well defined property of the optical system...

    Cadex MX1 muzzle brake

There are people who own cadex rifles on this forum somwhere... It would be great to hear any experience with it. Thanks.

    Cadex MX1 muzzle brake

I'm curious how the cadex MX1 muzzle brake compares to other options. It seems like a good design! I've got one on order, and I'd love to hear if it's comparable to the APA little bastard (or similar) for effectiveness. I'm planning to put it on a AI axmc in 6.5cm. The whole rifle weighs...

Rifle Scopes S&B 3-20 vs 5-20 Ultra Short???

Would you compare the ultra short to the nightforce Beast or Kahles more in terms of the nearness of the image...?

Rifle Scopes S&B 3-20 vs 5-20 Ultra Short???

I've never been able to look through one of these scopes, so maybe someone here can answer a questions that I have. When I look through my Nightforce Beast it feel like I'm looking at an image surrounded by metal; it's kind of a "looking through a tube" sensation if that makes sense...

Are 147gr ELDs grouping for you?

Thanks for posting this! It's really helpful in setting up initial load development.

    The 1,000 Yard Rifle

I agree with domdoc, the scope is the critical factor for getting out to 1000yds or so. The rifle will certainly do the job, but unless you want to walk it on you need accurate adjustments.

    2000yrd SA round?

I thought about an extreme long range barrel for my AX308 a while back, and I looked at the options a little bit. Since it's limited to the 308 bolt face I figured that it was fine to single feed for this special purpose barrel, and when I swap the 6.5creed back I could use the magazine and...

    2000yrd SA round?

When I want shoot out to 2k yards I usually drive forward about 1k yards and shoot from there. But I'm not very good, so someone else may have a better method.

Rifle Scopes Tenebraex covers (clear, opaque, polarized, ARD...)

That's a fair point. I don't think there's a compelling reason to have the clear covers. I appreciate the input from the snipers hide community. Thanks everybody!

    Rifle Scopes AIAT Razor Spuhr

The spuhr 4001 (1.18" height) and the spuhr 4011 (1.10" height) will both work for your application. A friend of mine has his Vortex Gen 2 4.5-27 mounted in a 4011 on a AI AXMC with the forward rail removed. It's a bit harder to see the spuhr level when the scope is lower however, though it's...

Rifle Scopes Tenebraex covers (clear, opaque, polarized, ARD...)

I bought a set of Aadmount caps. I didn't like how stiff they are. I got a set of Tenebraex caps with my Nightforce Beast, and I'm really happy with them except that they rotate with the ocular housing. That's a nightforce thing though, so I can't really hold the caps responsible for that...

Rifle Scopes Tenebraex covers (clear, opaque, polarized, ARD...)

It doesn't seem like there's any strong opinions on this topic. I guess caps are caps...

Rifle Scopes Tenebraex covers (clear, opaque, polarized, ARD...)

I'm looking at getting some Tenebraex covers for a new scope that I'm expecting, and I'm finding more options that I expected. I'm interested to hear comments on experience with the clear or amber or polarized or opaque covers. I don't think I need polarized; it seem like that's sort of...

Rifle Scopes The Good Bad and Ugly: USO B025, Kahles SKMR 3, S&B 5-25 or 3-27?

I can only comment on the Kahles k624i from this list. I bought it last year, and it had some extruded o-ring protruding from between the ocular housing and the power selector ring. I believe it was an assembly error, and I gave it back to them for a repair. They currently have the scope in...

    6mm Creedmoor, here to stay?

I think it may have a difficult time holding it's current popularity given the push in 6.5 bullets into the 0.330 and 0.351 G7 BC range. Do you guys think it's the availability of factory ammunition/support that will build the popularity in it? It seems like it's more of a high cost to benefit...

Rifle Scopes Exciting scopes coming from Bushnell the ERS & XRS Gen II

Other optics companies have put the same "stuff" in the parallax turret without the kind of width that it appears to take up here. Maybe the angle of the picture makes it look more pronounced than it actually is though. It's not a big deal, but my preference is certainly for a narrower form...

Rifle Scopes Exciting scopes coming from Bushnell the ERS & XRS Gen II

It seem like the parallax turret is unnecessarily large. Does it seem to anyone else that it's larger than the windage turret? I can't say I love that. Maybe I just have delicate sensibilities.

    6.5 Creedmoor barrel length.

Can you share the data that you've gathered? That kind of thing would be edifying for the person deciding on the barrel length of a new rifle. You could make it a sticky in the bolt action rifle section. Probably plotting the data would be best, and restrict the data into categories of...
