    Gunsmithing Stock painting question

I'm sure that this has come up on here before but, What is the best way/product to paint a stock? I'll cut to the chase, I need to paint a Manners stock and I want to use something durable. I've used cerakote on several barrels, actions, ect., but never tried it on a stock.

Hunting & Fishing My daughter's 2012 mule deer

After several tough days in the field we came across this guy. She took him at 351 meters with a Remington 700 in 25-06, using a 115gr Berger VLD. This is her second season hunting and second buck. I'm pretty proud of her, she is becoming a great hunter and is an excellent shot!

    Hunting & Fishing George's Hammer

Re: George's Hammer After dealing with this hunting season I'm thinking I need a new toy. What is the weight of that rifle with out the scope? How is the noise level on that break, and can you get the lightweight Talley rings for that action? I'm seriously considering culling the herd and...

Hunting & Fishing Why shoot coyotes?

Re: Why shoot coyotes? Sorry that should have been $2.25. We have been getting anywhere from $2-2.40 per pound for lambs this year. I know some guys that have sold some yearling ewes for $350-400 per head. We are enjoying record prices in the industry, but it makes predation hurt that much...

Hunting & Fishing Why shoot coyotes?

Re: Why shoot coyotes? Just 4 of 43 that this guy and his buddy killed before I got them killed this spring. I sold 89 pound lambs yesterday for 225.50 per pound. It adds up in a hurry and definetly effects the bottom line. If we didn't hunt coyotes we couldn't stay in business.

Hunting & Fishing Montana Antelope - Some Direction Appreciated

Re: Montana Antelope - Some Direction Appreciated To be honest I'm still finding dead antelope, I think it would be scary to know just how many died. They are still around, but my guess would be that pretty much all of the old mature bucks in this area winter killed. However south of us...

Hunting & Fishing Montana Antelope - Some Direction Appreciated

Re: Montana Antelope - Some Direction Appreciated I just applied online, region 7 is huge. That covers most of eastern MT. That will also be your best chance at drawing a permit. They are letting 11000 either sex permits for rifle season and 2000 doe/fawn permits for that region, which is...

Hunting & Fishing New Hunters Safety Grad!!

Re: New Hunters Safety Grad!! Nice! You've got me chomping at the bit for this fall! I've got a lefty coming up in the ranks as well. Now I'm wondering if that rifle is available in a left hand .223. I'd like to get her some time on a small center fire. She shots my right hand rifles but...

Hunting & Fishing New Hunters Safety Grad!!

Re: New Hunters Safety Grad!! I'm kicking around the idea of a 7mm-08. I don't think that it would be too much recoil for her, she's already 5 foot 2 inches tall and 105 pounds. To top it all off she shoots both eyes open. My first rifle was a 220 swift, which I still have, but a deal is a...

Hunting & Fishing New Hunters Safety Grad!!

My daughter graduated from hunters safety this morning. She has been shooting for a couple of years now. I promised her that if she passed the course I would buy her a rifle. Anyone got any youth model Remington 700's laying around that they are not using anymore? At this point I'm not sure...
