Gunsmithing Rem 700 300 RUM Bottom Metal options?

I know this thread is old but I thought I would ask for some help. I have a 300RUM built of a 700 action and have found a perfect load at 3.899 coal. It is my only rifle so i use it for hunting and targets so I would like to have it as a repeater. What would be the best way to do this? If I...

Phoenix Custom Rifles 300 RUM I had PCR build me a 300 RUM and to say that they did a great job would be an understatement. I was on a tight budget for this rifle and they offered great advice from the different types of stocks, action, barrels, triggers, bottom metal, bolts, firing pin...

Hand Loading for Long Range 4: Powderin' it

Took my rifle to Phoenix Custom Rifles and they checked out the bolt and the firing pin assembly. Everything checked out fine and they cleaned and re-lubed the bold. However, I just went out a few days ago to shoot long range and the first round that I put in there did not fire, go figure. A...

Hand Loading for Long Range 4: Powderin' it

I would let it cool at least 90 sec between shots...or until it was no more than warm to the touch. If you can wait longer do it. I don't like shooting a hot barrel if I don't have to...

Some friends and I went and stretched out the legs on our rifles. I was looking to see what we/the rifles are capable of. I was shooting a 300RUM that I just had built and wanted to see how my final load of my ladder test would group at 1,000 yards and if i could hit at 1400yards. I'm just...

Hand Loading for Long Range 4: Powderin' it

Went and shot a refined ladder test with retumbo starting at 86.7gr and going to 90.0gr in .3gr increments. I wanted to accomplish 2 things with this finer test. One was to see where max pressure was and two was to see if there was a node at higher charges. The only primer that was cratered was...
