Range Report R&D .243 range report

Re: R&D .243 range report The slower twists are very popular around here for the 6PPC (300yd BR croud). Some of the guys are getting amazing velocities with bullets just under 70gr. I believe they go as slow as 1:12 for that game.

Range Report R&D .243 range report

Re: R&D .243 range report Nice rifle. I'm curious about the choice of 1:10 twist for the barrel... is this a varmint rig? Do you do allot of UKD targets at closer range? I have a 1:8 on my 243 for the heavier bullets. Just curious, beautiful rilfe!

    7mm WSM

Re: 7mm WSM The 7wsm is a great cartidge. I love mine. My next project is a 300wsm not as good ballistically as the 7, but should give me better barrel life. On the 7wsm, the throat started moving forward (enough to notice with change in ballistics) at a little over 1100 rounds. I chased the...

Hunting & Fishing Passed up in '08, Shot in '09

Re: Passed up in '08, Shot in '09 I couldn't have passed on that one... though I've passed on good bucks to get better. I've also passed on good bucks and gone without My dad still gives me a hard time about one buck I passed. That is an awesome buck! We don't have many whitetails that nice...

Range Report How long do you expect accuracy to remain

Re: How long do you expect accuracy to remain I actually notice accuracy getting better with 50 rounds or so down the barrel with no cleaning... I was dissapointed I had to clean my barrel (got it wet out shooting) the weekend before an F-class match. I've read simular experiences at 6mmbr.com

    7mm twist rate

Re: 7mm twist rate Here's some great info from Bryan Litz web site specifically about the bullets in question (and proper twist rates)... http://www.appliedballisticsllc.com/index_files/7mmNumberOne.pdf I went 1:9 on my 7wsm with great results for both the 180gr VLD and 168 VLD as well.

Which bullet type is more accurate?

Re: Which bullet type is more accurate? Never noticed much difference in accuracy between fmj and sp. Used to do 300yd BR comps for fun and tried some flat base bullets since everyone else was using them. They were more accurate, but for long range, you need the extra BC of the boat tail. I...

    New Beanland 7wsm Done

Re: New Beanland 7wsm Done That's a beauty! I've been using 7wsm for a coupple years now and I must say it's one heck of a cartridge. It's awfully tough to beat when the conditions get tough.

Question: twist rate for .338 bullets

Re: Question: twist rate for .338 bullets I tried to find the same info before I ordered my barrel and I could find nothing. The guys who shoot well with 1:10 twist and 300gr SMKs shot just as well as the guys who used the 1:9.4 etc. The biggest benefit I could find for the 1:9.4 was peace of...

Range Report cold temperature and high b.c. bullets

Re: cold temperature and high b.c. bullets You might try the 108gr Berger BT it shoots well in any condition from my 26" 1:8 243 win. They are not jump sensitive either.

Rifle Scopes Leupold RX III LRF

Re: Leupold RX III LRF I Used to use an RX-III and it would not consistantly give a reading much further than 500yds. Occasionally if conditons were good we'd get as far as 750 out of it but it requried multiple tries. I've got the Nikon 1200 now wich is much better but I'm considering...
