    Winchester 70 Question

With that bottom rail and D&T for match sites, it might be a NRA high power setup. Is it clip-slotted (either machined in or a Mo bolt on) for stripper clips for reloads during rapid stage? Nice rifle. Tim

FN SPR / Win 70 SA bottom metal for AICS magazines?

thanks guys, I should have been more clear that I have the CDI bottom metal on a couple actions now, and so I am familiar with that product, but owner passed away. Some places still have CDI inventory for other rifle actions, but I didn't find it in stock for FN SPR. I had forgotten about PTG...

FN SPR / Win 70 SA bottom metal for AICS magazines?

I found another FN SPR action for a build that would use AICS magazines. Is there an available alternative to the the CDI bottom metal? I have CDI on previous builds, so would have liked that but open to other ideas. thanks

    308 Beyond 1K YARDS

I don't find 1,000 easy at my skill level, but depending on wind it's not too bad for a IPSC or larger size target. This morning for example wind gusts would quickly push me off the target if I didn't catch a wind change. And I am not a great wind reader, so that still happens. For me though...

    6.5 Addiction (Swedemoor)

Very interesting idea! I have several standard 6.5x55s in long actions, and I was just gathering parts to build another 260 (possibly 260AI) short action FN SPR with CDI bottom metal build. However now I may go another direction with this build. Thanks !

    6.5x55 Swede users?

550 yards should provide excellent feedback for you. If you select the last load you tried (47.9) because it looked best, if no pressure signs I would also validate what a little faster does. That way you know 1) where in node you are & 2) confirm it doesn't fall apart if a little faster on...

    6.5x55 Swede users?

were you seeing pressure signs? R22 is more temp sensitive, but silver seems to have tightened up so I wonder if you should try 48.3 to see if it tightens more.

    surplus swede 6.5x55 Any sources?

I shot a lot of the Swede surplus Prickskytte (sniper) ammo when it was cheap. Now it is harder to find and not cheap, Gunbroker is $1 a round and mine was not reloadable brass. Some of the last batches from AIM were slightly corroded. The suggestion to buy Lapua brass and load your own...

    Winchester action builds

I am a HUGE fan of Win 70 pre-64 & later CRF, as well as the FN SPR actions. That said I have owned several Win 70 Heavy Varmint (HV) push feeds, still have two of them, and HV push feeds all have shot very well. Regards, Tim

Looking for advice on a long range hunting rig from the reloading perspective

My old deer lease in Tennessee was down in a hollow, steep hills with 150 yards max shot, so Win M70 Classic Feather Weight 6.5x55 Swede & Swaro PH 1.5-6x42 scope (or M70 pre-64 in 30'Gov) was perfect. I carried the FN A3G with heavy US Optics on a couple long hikes, and I grew to appreciate...

    6.5x55 Swede users?

I am not MSTN, but I have a few Swedish aperture sights. Crown Jewels has more detail, but the Dutchman has a good overview here. 1896 Swedish Mauser, Target Sights, Dipoter Sights

    XM118LR questions

I also thought it looked like R15 too, but as Darkker noted above may not be exact R15 powder formulation. This particular sample of 1 was 44.0 grains, but again that doesn't tell us much from a 'statistical probability stand-point', this was just my curiosity pulling one...

    XM118LR questions

FYI I have a bunch of M118LR "12" so out of curiosity I pulled one this morning. My sample has 44.0g of the mystery powder.
