I will do my best to explain my question. Not sure if a short answer is possible. 1. I have 5 FFP optics & they are my preference (all mil). 2. I have one SFP optic that I can not part with a Swarovski Z6 2.5 x 15 x 44. Her primary mission, gathering light for hunting application...

Night Vision Wrecked my Ranger, 2x SkeetIRx, and UTC-Xii tonight!

This is another part of the Hide that does not often receive much recognition. When one of the members shares a close call that very easily could have gone bad. We forget our indifference's. I think that's called camaraderie.

Night Vision Wrecked my Ranger, 2x SkeetIRx, and UTC-Xii tonight!

Glad you made it out in one piece. Very lucky dude, very lucky. No cell phone or no reception can turn a normal evening in the swamp into deep Kim-chi. Hunting alone at night several miles off the grid is extremely rewarding. Murphy is always willing to test us. Travel safe.

Night Vision Luna elir3 visible to coyotes?

The ELIR - 3 was recommended to me a few years ago by a couple of Hide members KSE & WIG. I put those 2, into the (know their craft) category. I have had much success illuminating hogs and they do not seem to flinch when I turn on the Prison Yard spot light. However when it comes to the coyotes...

Rifle Scopes What do you do for scope zero?

Funny you should mention that question. I do not or have ever shot a match, yet the 143 gr ELD-X is what I use to hunt & shoot at the range. Results for both applications have been favorable. But recently I zeroed one of my bolt action 6.5cm's with a second focal plan optic with the 140 gr...

Night Vision White hot or Black hot?

Good question, I have bounced back and forth and found black hot to be a better contrast in cooler temps with a white reticle. During the summer heat I go with white hot & a black reticle. I have yet to find any use for the psychedelic color palette selections. Scan with thermal Shoot with NV...
