    Giraud Annealing Machine Modifications

Thump rrr. I know the troubles with the ITAR regulation, thanks for the clarification about the regulations though. And i know Doug is backlogged 3 months or so currently, i have a few of his trimmers. As for export lisences i am aware of the procedure and have been through it before, have a US...

    Vihtavuori Powder for 6.5 Creedmoor?

N550, N150, N160 are the obvious choices. If your looking for velocity 550 is the obvious choices, but it's more temp sensitive then the 100 series. And yes N160 is very close to H4831 in burn rate.

Reloading 416 Barrett - Neck Turner recomendations

Neck turner for the 416 Barrett. Contact John Perkins and i believe he can help you out. It's not exactly a caliber that's sol in high volumes. Get the 21 st century shooting 50 cal neck turning lathe, and a cutter of the appropriate angle for the shoulder and you should be close. It comes with...

    Whidden Gunworks dies

The seater is very good, of the factory made threaded 7/8-14 dies, you won't find any better. As for they're non bushing FL sizer i can not comment as i have not tried them.

    Giraud trimmer set up help

And the back side of that is that with unevenly applied pressure your trim lengths will vary even more when using a O ring. I do not believe it is a good solution myself, consistent trim length is one of the things that affects neck tension. And what about when the rubber gets old and stiff? it...

Long Chamber Length & Brass Trim Length Rem 700 Bolt Action

You got it pretty well covered there, it will lessen throat erosion, and make the brass seal the chamber faster thereby lessen backflow and carbon rings if using slow burning powders. In some cases it will lessen SD/ES to a small degree. Stay safe and measure case growth though before going...

    Giraud Annealing Machine Modifications

Happy to be able to help out mate. As far as i know those potentiometers are US made even, something entirely different then the cheap chinese junk, and only ones i know of that are held to MIL standards. Been drooling over this machine for a long time, but no way i can get hold of it, as it...

Frustrated with Hornady LNL Auto Charge

A cheap scale with bad software, or electronic noise are the likely contributors. I use two Chargemasters, with straw mods and reprogramming set to underthrow a half grain. And a Omega powder trickler and a Sartorius Quintrix to bring the charges to the correct weight. It is not as fast as only...

    Musgrave brass?

Yes it is made by PMP, and of good quality. But they are a bit vintage, as distirbuted under the Musgrave name, they disappeared in 1996, and the brass is most likely older then that. I'd guess late 1980's early 90's somewhere. Might be worth more to a collector then a shooter, if you find one...

    Best drag bags

Tac Ops gen 2 get's my vote. Better then my eberlestock, and a few cheaper ones that are already gone.

Any experience with the RND 201 bipod?

If looking for a bipod in that price class that i super stable, underslung and very solid I would take a closer look at the Eliteiron Revolution bipod. The price is bad enough, but it has some nice features, it's not just two height adjustable bipod legs with rail clamps at an outrageous price.

    7-300wm or 7 Rem Mag?

Yes it will work fine with LA AI mags, in worst case a 338 CIP mag is even longer.

    7-300wm or 7 Rem Mag?

If you want something above the 7 RM i would take a hard look at the 7 LRM really. The 338 case for a 7 is really overkill.

    Ruag Brass

Just so you are aware there are two types of brass from RUAG, normal and the Match brass. The Match brass is generally on par with Lapua from my experience, although i do not shoot 338 LM so i can not comment on that specific cartidge. I would choose the Match brass over any other manufacturer...

    Which concentricity ga. to get

I have the 21 st century conc gage and it is truly superior for measuring internal diameters and inside neck concentricity. Although if you want the most user friendly and accurate gage, that gives repeatable measurements. The accuracy one gage is surely the best out there, the wheel drive...

What's your favorite cheek riser for a fixed stock?

If looking for a cheek rest, and not a stock pack. I'd take a hard look at the Bradley cheek rests, adjustable with no need for drilling holes or permanent install, solidly made, and works very well. My only complaint is that the cheek rest is a bit slick/slippery, witch can easily be...

    Recommend quality seating die

Whidden Gunworks. Redding competition seater. Forster Ultra micrometer seater. Would be my suggestions in that order if looking for a standard 7/8-14 die. Sinclair stainless bullet seater is my current favorite, used with an arbor press. And in my press with threaded dies i've gotten best...

30-06 fired brass. Is this normal?

It is not directly uncommon, and if it is not excessive headspace causing a beginning separation it is nothing to worry about. If you have a very tight fitting chamber these normally will not appear though. As the case is fired, it expands to the chamber walls, and after there is some amount on...

    Gunsmithing Winchester M70 w/ M14 magazines

I am sure when you have the money, Masterclass can make you a stock for a M70 that uses AICS mags, although it would not be as unique. They do top notch work, and makes some wicked stocks for prone shooters. It seems like a good deal for 1000 dollars though, considering the rifle, stock, all...
