    Tikka T3 Thread

Not that it's my first Tikka, but I just bought "the wife" a tac a1 in 6.5 creed. As soon as the scope mount gets here we are going to break it in and see how she likes it. Really thing I prefer the original tikka trigger to the two stage though.

.284 win in a Short Action

284 win would definitely push the outer limits of coal for a short action. You could likely make it work, I've heard of it being done though. It seems the the original Ultralight rifles were short action chambered in 284 win.

Teh search is your friend, also a simple Google search would mostly answer your questions. That said it's a solid but heavy optic for the price

Range Report choosing a bullet for 6.5 CM

I wanted so badly for them to, but they just won't group. +1 on Berger hybrids and when you can fine them the Norma golden targets are accurate also.

Why can't I get DTACs to group

I get that rifles can group with bad sd and es velocities but it's not advisable to knowingly settle for and load as such. If you can get another bullet to run easier you may just want to go that route for the sake of barrel life.

Macallan had seemed so boring until they started doing their annual releases. Man they've gotten these right though.

Savage 110 tactical. Talk me into or out of

There really isn't anything wrong with a savage for hunting. That said rapid bolt manipulation is really the downfall of this and a number of other actions. That said you own it so run it until YOU notice its holding you back. At that point sell it for the $400 or so you can get for it and...

Gunwerks GRB 6.5 PRC Barreled Action $1900.00

How well does the 6.5 prc run in a short action? I would think you would run into coal issues from a magazine.

    Loading past book max???

Learn and respect the early signs of pressure step one. There are a lot of reasons why you can go above book max or not make it to book max from rifle to rifle. Another reason not to run too high of pressure intentionally is the chance of a miss measure of powder and catching a hot charge...

Savage 110 tactical. Talk me into or out of

I totally agree with what you're saying, and can't argue that a Tikka is among the best factory rifles out there. I just don't see anything wrong with the savage if the only intended purpose will be as stated and there will never be anything spent on the rifle besides ammo and barrels.

    Flat or curved trigger?

The first time I used a flat trigger it was as if targets were 100 yards closer, winds disappeared and the sun was trapped forever behind me. But really I did like the finger to trigger interface and it offered a feeling of comfort. That said it did not improve accuracy just gives a slight...

Savage 110 tactical. Talk me into or out of

The OP's intended uses for the rifle will not be held back by a Savage. There will be a number of factory match ammo that will get you below an inch at 100. There aren't many rifles that come with aics mags a scope rail and some form of an adjustable stock for the $700ish they ask for the...

Savage 110 tactical. Talk me into or out of

In my savage experience... you will really enjoy your savage for a time, but then it will leave you wanting in one way or another. For me it was the stock options, and starting to look at upgrading action parts. As soon as I thought about spending on these parts I decided an aftermarket...
