Re: 5r or sps I bought an SPS Varmint/Tactical as a starter rifle. The stock is gawd awful, so I bought a used Bell & Carlson for under $200. Put a Vortex Viper PST 4-16x scope on it (which I LOVE - great value) and a Harris bipod, and I've got a nice shooting gun for a tad over $1700. I'm...- zanshin09

Re: Which 1911 for $1000 I went with a Springfield Loaded LW Operator. Love it so far. Very smooth shooting right out of the box, haven't had a single issue so far, lifetime warranty. Seems like a nice gun.- zanshin09
