22 Creedmoor shooters - any regrets?

I have a Savage 6.5 CM that I'm going to rebarrel with a 22 CM. I have enough 75 grain A max bullets to wear out the barrel just can't decide on a barrel length. 22, 20, or 18 inch length. I was wondering what kind of velocity drop I can expect between barrel lengths I was guessing about 40 fps...

Rifle Scopes New BDX Scopes and Updates from Sig

That's what I've been waiting for. An illuminated dot that highlights the elevation line then push the vertical stadia into the wind, I assume the Wind holds are based on MOA. Do you know the spacing? Please keep us posted. When I looked on the Sig website I saw a reference for R2 but couldn't...

    6.5 Grendel Wilson Combat 18”

I've had better luck with 120 grain Barnes Match Burners, the next best were 120 grain SMKs both over about 26 grains of Benchmark, in a 16 inch Wilson Recon 6.5 Grendel.

    Rifle Scopes Tremor2 Reticle

I have a Tremor2 reticle in one of my scopes and use that rifle most of the time. My only complaint is in low light on low power the reticle is not as bold as a plain thick cross hair. That said any fine cross hair scope would suffer in the same situation. My scope does not have illumination. if...

Range Report The Hornady 140 amax ammo. The OLD VS THE NEW

My plan was to reload the brass from lot 313xxxx after going through the empties I had about 40 pieces of brass that showed ejector marks on the case heads and some carbon in the letters on the case heads, I left them out and cleaned the rest 5 more case that I cleaned had scary loose primer...

Range Report The Hornady 140 amax ammo. The OLD VS THE NEW

I shot some new lot #3133078 last week I had 2 primers fall out of the case when I opened the bolt and several of the cases showed carbon around the primers in the primer pocket. The bolt lift was not stiff on any rounds. The new lot of ammo does not shoot groups as good as the older lots. I...

F T/R Competition 20 MOA Scope Base Question

During an F Class mid range match at 600 yards the wind picked up from the "short side" of his available windage adjustment and he couldn't move the cross hairs enough to hold the X ring he was having to hold the 8/9 ring on the upwind side of the target. I guess he could have the holes welded...

F T/R Competition 20 MOA Scope Base Question

Spoke with a fella that had a 20 MOA tapered scope base from a well known manufacturer, he said that with that base under his scope he ran out of windage on the turret. He spoke with the base maker and they told him the scope base holes in the action were not drilled correctly. The holes in the...
